This new format will allow some teams to have a "throw away" game and still make the knockouts

But playing with fire will send a few "good" teams home early if the order of matches is unfavorable

I get that strategy, but at that point, the game becomes the soccer version of SGA just foul baiting ALL the time. That is unwatchable.

On replay, for as good as the Saudi keeper has been that was pretty poor to not control the initial weak header

Did I see a dude in an Argentine kit cheering for Uruguay?

That seems ballsy.

Wonder where that poster is saying he was going to avoid it all going to a rangers game.

Good luck with that after seeing the Dutch videos.

Haha yeah good luck with that.

Also what a stupid mentality, missing a once in a lifetime event in your town for a regular season mlb game.

Eh, it looks easy on the replay, but in real time there was still some pace on it from close range and he pushed it wide. There just happened to be two Uruguayans right there.

Yeah. It’s more pacey than it looked and he did well to stop the initial shot. Just bad luck on the rebound.

As someone on the last page said, the games today have been unexpectedly pretty good

Watch tomorrow be a snoozefest to make up for it (hope not)

Saudi way over extended and only got away with it because the ref let a foul go.

I don’t think there is a matchup in the entire tournament less appealing on paper than Iran vs New Zealand.
