Gio says he felt 100% before Wales. Gregg thought otherwise and mentioned "muscle tightness." Will we stack the box and leave Gio on the bench or will he play to hopefully get us a goal in a counter?

Gio brings a dynamic that none of our other players bring. I still can’t wrap my mind around Gregg choosing Jordan Morris over him when we needed a goal

They’ve been treating him with kid gloves because of his injuries, feeling “tightness,” etc. Time for those to come off. Kid needs to step up big time for us to have a chance Friday.

Greg was making decisions about the next game before playing the game in front of us.

The US will be fully on its heels all game, I think. We could certainly make use of Reynas ability on the ball.

If he does start, doesn’t that throw more question into the decision not to sub him in vs Wales?

#Jordan Morris

We could’ve used Gio, Nipples and Pepi. Gregg decides to sit one and leave the other two home and bring some MLS rejects that barely get run in the MLS. He’s horrid.

My question is where do you play him in a 4–3-3.

Pulisic, Aaronson, and Adams are locked in due to playing in the premiere league and familiarity with the English squad. Can probably say the same for Sargent. You’ve got to start Weah. Would Gregg run a midfield 3 of Aaronson, Adams, Reyna? Feel like our best lineup with Reyna is in a 4-2-3-1 with him playing the 10. That leaves one of Aaronson or Weah on the bench though, which I don’t see happening unless he starts Weah up top

———-Weah————
Pulisic-Reyna-Aaronson
—Musah——Adams

Thots?

Could see that morphing into a 4-4-2 in defense with Aaronson leading the high press up top with Weah and Gio filling the space on the right.

We aren’t going to have a ton of possession here, so I feel like we will have to rely on pace up top and hope for a good counter, or relentless pressure from the forwards on the English back line when they try to play out of the back.

Weah is not going to play up top. Both he and Gregg have said this multiple times.

Nipples plays as much for Dallas as Morris does for Seattle. Is Arriola somehow less of an “MLS reject” in your mind? Morris is way more athletic though and I think is a better fit for the international game.

Nipples has the X factor. His aggressive approach and his disruptive play helped us qualify. His spark off the bench would be a lot better than Morris.
