why does CONCACAF put on a GC every 2 years

intsead of every 4 like Euro?
copa is every 3 years (was every 2 uo till the 2000s)

I don't see why not. I would hate for there to only be one regional tournament every 4 years. It also give the teams that don't make the Confederations Cup a chance for a tournament setting leading up to the World Cup.

I like it it means we get a Euro, Gold Cup, World Cup, or Confed Cup every summer

I like that they have placed more importance on the "off" year Golf Cup by having a playoff into the Confed Cup now also.

I'm ok with the way it is. This years Gold Cup may not seem that meaningful but it gives some of our unproven players experience in a tournament.

It funds the confederation, It gives more opportunity to flesh out the player pool, And it gives Concacaf teams more points in the fifa ranking system by giving them competitive matches.
A Fifa world cup match is worth 4x a friendly in the point system.
The Confederations cup and a Confederation championship (the gold cup) is worth 3X a friendly
WCQ and Confederation Qualifying worth a 2.5x multiplier.
Beating Mexico in the gold cup gives us more points in the FIFA ranking system than beating them in a WCQ does.
Beating Belize gives in the gold cup gives us as many points as beating Germany in a friendly.

more international football, and a chance to season your "b-squad" every couple of years. It's a massive positive, and a great developmental tool for all of CONCACAF.
