1999 was the first year of the expanded 64 team postseason tournament. Back then they only seeded the top 8 teams. They didn't setup the regionals beyond 8 seeds, so I don't think they had quite as much emphasis on what the seeds were beyond that. I only say that because if you go back and look at the 1999 season, there were a lot of 2 seeds that I bet would have been top 16 seeds and would have been awarded the 1 seed in a normal year. Feels like a year where the NCAA was trying to give out some 1 seeds to some mid major teams and then the big boys were hosting. Southern Cal hosted and won their regional as a 2 seed with Pepperdine in that regional. LSU was a 2 seed in their regional despite finishing 3rd in the SEC and they sent us East Carolina as a 1 seed. Tulane got a 1 seed that year and got sent to Auburn, who was a 2 seed but was hosting and finished 4th in the SEC.

Basically it was a lot of "feel good seedings" for small schools who then got to travel to the location that would have probably been the top 16 seed in a normal world.

We talk about this every year: the summer exam is primarily filled with people who either deferred taking it after graduation, graduated late, or have already failed before. The passage rates tend to be wildly different from the fall exam, which is primarily filled with your traditional test takers: first time taking the exam, immediately after graduation.

Eta: In looking at the numbers, it looks like the number of kids who are deferring the first test is skyrocketing. Interesting…

Nope. This is entirely backwards. July exam is for people that graduated in May. The guys taking the exam in February either deferred or failed.
I caught an error on Fan Dual for Vandy to win their regional at +1700. After about 20 minutes of that bet being opened they shut it down and changed Vandy to their true odds of +200 or so. I keep waiting on Fan Dual to void that bet, but hasn't happened yet.

Probably will hedge a little on a different sports book with an Oregon State bet at whatever their lowest odds are for their regional. Barstool had them at -125, so I could play both and guarantee a profit if either of them wins.

The odds variance across all of these books is insane to me. There's definitely some ways to take advantage of it, although I'm probably not smart enough to do so the best way.
Nope, basically the same stuff they offer all over the stadium. Makes no sense.
I went to the Champions Club for the Indiana game this weekend and now instead of being able to get free refills on cokes and a buffet similar to the stadium club in football they just have regular concessions down there at the same prices as the rest of the stadium. I get that LSU wants to drain every penny from us but this seems short-sighted and really takes away from any added value for those level tickets. Now that you can buy booze anywhere in the stadium, I don't even understand what the point would be to pay all the extra money to sit down there and pay premium prices when you get the same services.

Ok, rant over.

It seems we lay an egg at home. Frustrating. Team will still be fine, but it’d be nice if we could keep rolling when the fans start showing interest.

Do we know why he didn't play or suit up for the game? Was he injured?

A buddy of mine said that every SEC team can block one 2:30 CBS game a year. I can't find that online anywhere so was seeing if anyone had any information on that. If it is true, and you can block one CBS 2:30 game a year, there's no reason that Alleva shouldn't do everything in his power to get this moved to a night kickoff, or at least 6 p.m. on ESPN.

Slaughter just can’t cut it. I don’t see how we keep playing him.
Anybody got a video of the Jordan v. CPM incident?
I'm not melting down, I love Torina and the softball program. I was just asking if there was any concern that this could lead to not making tournament play. If there isn't then that's cool, but we are like 9th out of 13 SEC teams and have a 5-8 record. That screams some concern at least to me regarding this year. I'm fully confident moving forward in our program.
Is there any chance we don't make NCAA tournament play? We have an awful SEC record, and I know we are highly ranked, but with this record of we don't make the SEC tournament I think I could see is being left out of the field. What am I missing?

Did I hear right earlier that we only have one or two saves the whole year?

I think we have 2 total. Not sure if it is 3 after last nights game. Someone can check me on that.

re: Masters - Shot Tracker

I think what I meant is the thing that tracks the shot off the tee where it shows the arc of the shot.

But yeah, I know what you are talking about and it definitely isn't up to normal PGA tour standards.

That being said, the coverage for the Masters is overall incredible.

Masters - Shot Tracker

Is anybody else surprised they haven't had the shot tracker at the Masters this week? That is one of my favorite little features and I think it would have been awesome out there at Augusta.
Today I was streaming LSU baseball and LSU softball on my computer side by side and it seemed like both games would always cut off about 5 minutes after I got it setup. Is there some restriction on streaming two different things at one time on the WatchESPN app? I searched and couldn't find it, but I assumed that is what it is.

As far as the streaming quality goes. I had a Cisco modem/router and had a ton of issues with streaming, then I upgraded to the ARRIS/Motorola Surfboard modem/router combo (my internet research said this is basically the best I can get without spending a TON of money) and it has been much much better since then. That being said, the Tulane game was awful on Tuesday and I had some problems today with the feed cutting out at various times. I am not sure if this is Cox issue or an SEC network issue.

I don't complain at all about these minor issues because I grew up loving LSU baseball and knowing I couldn't ever watch them on tv, then we got a few games a year, and then we had to sit through awful camera angles and shoddy service through Geaux Zone (and that was only guaranteed for home games). Now, we get to watch almost every LSU game (with the exception of the games on CST due to my directv subscription). This is so awesome that if they have some feed problems every now and then I just overlook it and cut on my radio or watch the great Liquid Rabbit type out play by play old school style (well, not quite old school, since old school would be logging on and seeing a GMorgan in game thread)
