With the USSF Presidential Election taking place on Saturday, who do y'all want to see elected and why?

The candidates are:
Carlos Cordeiro
Kathy Carter
Paul Caligiuri
Steve Gans
Kyle Martino
Hope Solo
Mike Winograd
Eric Wynalda

It seems as if Carlos Cordeiro and Kathy Carter are the favorites, but the other 6 candidates are trying to combine forces in the name of change.

Carlos Cordeiro

Literally makes zero sense and I can't understand why ppl are behind him (other than the establishment not wanting their Cash cow messed with). What was all the bluster about Sunil having to step down if all you're gonna do is put his clone in charge?

whats the point of the 6- they will spit votes with statements like that. they need to select one of their number, the rest drop out

Part of the motivation for the alliance is that Saturday's vote allows just 10 minutes between rounds if a candidate doesn't achieve a majority of the vote. That is scant time to throw support to another candidate, so the idea was to come with a plan in advance of Saturday's vote.

Of course, the combined voting strength of the six candidates would need to be greater than 50 percent in order for this tactic to work. Given the facts that the ballot is secret, some delegates are still making up their minds, and allegiances can shift from round to round, it's nearly impossible to predict if that will be the case.
There is more about it in this ESPN article.

Hoping for Wynalda or Martino. Those two would actually try to change things for the better, and they’re former players.

Realistically, I think Kathy Carter will win, and that makes me sad. She’s a woman with SUM’s backing.

Not exactly. Caligiuri already said he knows nothing about that.

I saw an interview with Kathy Carter and it was insane to think this lady could be president of US soccer.

She doesn't like young US kids going to Europe over MLS.

Of course not, she's an MLS/SUM shill. She ran SUM until she left to run for this position, with the obvious intention of continuing to use the USSF as a tool to funnel all resources to/beat back any challenges to MLS/SUM.

She will get it, and MLS will have their hands all over Team USA, It's Leadership, and it's coaching.

@GlennCrooks

Unless something changes in 1-4pm ET meeting today, US Soccer Athlete Council will NOT vote in a bloc. I'm hearing that 4 candidates will be among the choices of the 18 members expected to vote. This would assure that election will have multiple rounds #USSFPresident @SiriusXMFC

Man, that's so disappointing, she's just as unfit (if not more so) than Gulati to run the USSF... Martino and Wynalda were the two that would at least try to bring about some meaningful change to the system, but instead we'll get more of the same shite and continue to be very mediocre...

Twelve out of 20 Athletes Council members are here. Their votes will still be weighted to count for 20 percent of the total vote. #USSFPresident
