We didn't go to the World Cup. So what. We're not apoplectic about it without the work of MLS and SUM making soccer matter to its fans.

I'm glad we don't accept it as a fan base. Lots of countries miss out, and its okay bc they always do. One benefit of living in the United States is we never have to be realistic about anything.

Carlos Cordeiro is your NEW U.S. Soccer president. He overcame the stigma of being labeled "status quo" and realistically he is the best equipped to handle the job, and most importantly, to learn from Sunil Gulati's mistakes. He has a BIG job ahead of him.

Cordeiro told me Tues. that if he wins 1st order of business will be "a coming together. There’s been a lot of heated things said, like in any campaign. So we all have to come together. I dont mean this in a soppy way, but we have to agree we’re all in this for the right reasons"

Well I doubt anything changes, so why should we expect to qualify in 2022.

A good, young generation that looks to be better than the previous one is a good start.

If you think that, then you just have your head buried in the sand.

And most of what they do will have little bearing in the short term.

Because qualifying in CONCACAF is easy. Not qualifying is a huge black eye, but it's basically a fluke given our talent level and infrastructure relative to the rest of the confederation.
