USMNT Players In Various Leagues Affecting Cohesiveness?

Does the fact that the members of our national team play in widely varying leagues with vastly different styles of play affect their ability to come together and play cohesively?
I guess it just seems that, for instance, the Germans play a certain style and that style is also played in the Bundesliga. Same for the Spaniards, and I'm sure others.
One player I am thinking of would be Jozy Altidore. He is a scoring machine in his league, but seems to have trouble getting on the same page lately with our team. Not saying this is any persons fault, and I love Jozy, but I wonder if his team does one thing to get him shots in league play that we don't do or aren't comfortable doing in international play.
Probably a retarded question. I admittedly am not a soccer expert, but I do love watching and supporting our team. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think you answered your own question here. Our team simply can't get him the ball because we have no offensive creativity in the midfield.

I wouldn't make too much of it since most NTs are the same.
Really only Germany, Spain, Italy, England (and maybe Mexico?) usually have a majority of their top players in the same league. I would say that when these countries have a large number of key NTs on the same club (Barca, Bayern, Juve) it can obviously be a big advantage.
I'm sure there are posters on here that follow Altidore more closely than I do but I think his huge difference in goals is mainly that Dutch league stats seem to me about like college football stats from old WAC and that guys like Adam Maher pass him the ball there instead of Edu and Jones.

Or it's because he's a forward who's scared of contact, has a shitty work ethic, and is generally not a fit for Jurgy's "system."

None of the above.

While probably true, it's also the case for a lot of USMNT players.

Not playing with a consistent formation or personnel isnt helping either. I think we have found a system that works with the 4231, 4411 hybrid that we played the last two games.
Players I would like to see in that formation are donovan in zusis spot, johnson at LB
ETA: Right now I think EJ is a better fit in this system than jozy in his ability to run the channels and drift out wide occasionally

They're both pretty useless without decent service from the wings, whether that comes from a cross or from wing play drawing defenders out to open up channels.

To add to what has already been said, you really just can't compare our talent level either with that of Germany, Spain, etc.

I understand and agree with that. I'm just curious if it would be beneficial for them all to be playing the same style more often. You see that a lot in basketball with some of the European teams.

One more reason why I look forward to MLS being a solid league in the future is so our guys can all play with and against each other consistently throughout their careers.

our problem is lack of creativeness and no wingers. Jozy scored 11 of his 13 with Donovan on the pitch. Think about that for a second.

Better players can hide Jozy's deficiencies?

Having Donovan back is going to help the team I think.

At this point in the development of US soccer, it makes more sense for our individual talents to get better playing in better leagues than for them to gain cohesiveness in a 3rd tier league like the MLS. Obviously, the goal is for that to eventually change, and the MLS has made progress, but it's still many years away.
