Brooks and Scally should be there.

Glad Yueill is not.

Surprised he dropped Busio.

Long must not be ready yet, not a shock.

Miazga and Jozy are clearly pretty far down the list.

Surprised how far Konrad de la Fuente, Pefok, Sargent, Hoppe, and especially Dike have fallen.

Ah, so Busio is only out because of COVID. Good to know

Hope no one else tests positive. Despite the snubs, the only head scratchers for me are Roldan, Lletget and Brooks Lennon.

That was COVID related.

He's done dude.

Konrad de la Fuente

Injured

quote:

Pefok

I know he is scoring a lot of goals, but I just can't get excited about him. I do think he would be a good sub option for a late goal because of his aerial ability, but I just can't see him ever being our starting 9.

quote:

Sargent

Until today was doing literally nothing for Norwich. Hell, they ran 2-striker formation today and Sargent still only started on the wing.

quote:

Hoppe

He is already getting lost in the shuffle at Mallorca due to injury and fitness. Saw something yesterday where Mallorca was trying to loan him out to Segunda clubs and no one was interested.

quote:

Dike

Gregg clearly didn't like what he saw from him in the Gold Cup, but I think him not getting called up has more to do with it being in Dike's best interest to get as many matches as possible in with West Brom right now, since he just moved there.

Where is the forward that no opponent likes and is just an a-hole? I think Hoppe or something like that was his name?

To me every team has to have a Hoppe type guy, if not they are at a disadvantage.

He has played in 4 total matches (no starts) out of a possible 24 matches since he was transferred to Mallorca.

Definitely think Scally should be on this list. Alas.

The starting midfield of Adams, Mckennie and Musah is great. The depth after those three in this pool is upsetting. Not that there is a lot of better options sitting at home. Just kind of is what it is.

Anything less than 7 points from this group is a total failure.

I'm starting to think Scalley will have to win the Ballon d'or for Gregggggggg to take him seriously.

It's to the point where I wouldn't hate Tanner Tessman getting called in.

I don't think Tessman is anything special, but he is getting semi-regular playing time in Serie A so why not kick the tires instead of thinking Lletget and Roldan will suddenly be better.

Williamson getting hurt really sucked. He was not without his faults, but his upside was/is pretty good.

Either a lot of guys are going to play 270 or we’re going to throw one of the three matches—hopefully the one in Canada to help our neighbors out. Our best XI could probably win all three, but Greggg probably won’t play them all three, so we’ll get some MLS B-Team for one match. Seven points should be the minimum for this window.

FTR, I’ll take:
Turner or Steffen
Dest/M. Robinson/Zimmerman/A. Robinson
Musah/Adams/McKenzie
Aaronson/Pepi/Pulisic
Subs:
Yedlin for Dest
Acosta for Musah
Weah for Aaronson

Here’s my “Canada” (MLS/Gold Cup) team:
Steffen or Turner (whoever doesn’t play the other 2)
Yedlin/McKenzie/Richards/Cannon
Roldan/Acosta/Lletget
JoMo/Zardes/Nipples

Hopefully we can get an early lead and maybe coast with some subs Thursday, play the A team again at Canada, then throw the B squad out there against Honduras.

If anything you are hoping best case for an A/B mix to get it done with us subbing out the As against El Sal, then going full strength for the next 2. We need as many points from this window as possible (I know that sounds stupid but you get what I'm saying)

Not official, but likely the case. Pretty sure he hasn't left England yet.

Is it just me or did our region drawing Oceania in the playoffs take away the intrigue that was left in qualifying. It wasn’t likely we ended up fourth but now if you do you are pretty much going through anyway. Heck at this point Panama doesn’t even have much to worry about.

It definitely has. And the 2026 cycle we don’t have to qualify for and with the WC moving to 48 teams I don’t think qualifying will be as exciting going forward.
