re: What’s your best melt on this board?

Just biding our time until the next reinstatement
I... errr... Broski made a thread calling for Jurgen to be fired after he left Donovan off the world cup roster.
It's odd as hell that the USMNT twitter account didn't even acknowledge Sargent's brace but wished Bello (who also didn't get called into camp) happy birthday.
Oh it was only a matter of time before he finally came back to MLS, but I'm just a little surprised he's doing it in a World Cup year where he has definitely not locked in his spot on the final roster.
Bold strategy to head to MLS right before the World Cup
He's looked like one of the best players on the field against Atleti and Sevilla.
Hoppe is an unused sub today despite Mallorca subbing out it's entire front 3.

At this rate, he should've stayed at Schalke and find his footing in the 2 bund.
Musah just scored against Atletico

The starting midfield of Adams, Mckennie and Musah is great. The depth after those three in this pool is upsetting. Not that there is a lot of better options sitting at home. Just kind of is what it is.

It's to the point where I wouldn't hate Tanner Tessman getting called in.

I don't think Tessman is anything special, but he is getting semi-regular playing time in Serie A so why not kick the tires instead of thinking Lletget and Roldan will suddenly be better.

Williamson getting hurt really sucked. He was not without his faults, but his upside was/is pretty good.

I think Hoppe or something like that was his name?

He has played in 4 total matches (no starts) out of a possible 24 matches since he was transferred to Mallorca.

Watching Utah this year--and I use that name purposefully

That this still bothers people is hilarious to me.

Do you call the Lakers only by Los Angeles?

Surprised he dropped Busio.

That was COVID related.

Jozy are clearly pretty far down the list.

He's done dude.

I know he is scoring a lot of goals, but I just can't get excited about him. I do think he would be a good sub option for a late goal because of his aerial ability, but I just can't see him ever being our starting 9.

Sargent

Until today was doing literally nothing for Norwich. Hell, they ran 2-striker formation today and Sargent still only started on the wing.

Hoppe

He is already getting lost in the shuffle at Mallorca due to injury and fitness. Saw something yesterday where Mallorca was trying to loan him out to Segunda clubs and no one was interested.

Dike

Gregg clearly didn't like what he saw from him in the Gold Cup, but I think him not getting called up has more to do with it being in Dike's best interest to get as many matches as possible in with West Brom right now, since he just moved there.

Yet Lleget and McKenzie are here

Agreed on McKenzie, Brooks should be in over him, although I think McKenzie gets a bad rap for one bad pass against Mexico. He's been decent. I'd take him over a healthy Aaron Long and Matt Miazga.

As for Lletget, my eyes bleed every time he plays, but I really have no idea who else deserves a call-up in his place. Our midfield depth right now is either too shite or too young.

He’s like your only guy with actual World Cup experience

To be fair, Yedlin played a lot more minutes than Brooks in 2014.

Berhalter says that John Brooks wasn’t “a good fit for this window” given the opponents they face, which is why he wasn’t selected.

#USMNT Berhalter asked by Ronald Blum if anything more than form played into not calling in John Brooks:

“Absolutely nothing beyond form for John”
I really am curious what was the moment (on field/off field) where Gregg decided Brooks was no longer in his plans.
Some weird arse scorpion kick looking thing.
