this team makes the easiest passes / decision making look more difficult than it should

We went full CONCACAF in the final 20 minutes

Luna is a starting XI player next summer?
It’s either him or Weah imo.
Tillman > Reyna

Is Guatemala better than we thought or are we just conceding possession? They have a very direct style that is much better to watch than most CONCACAF teams so far - the only time I saw them this Gold Cup was defending for their lives as they beat Jamaica.
Seems like we're playing on the counter after the first 10 minutes of the game. If Guatemala could finish better this could be 2-2.

They looked straight garbage in the last 20 minutes.

Man that was annoying to see Gaut keep playing that back post diagonal ball from the same spot over and over again. Freeman was tucked in too tight, little Gregg wouldn’t pressure and thank goodness Tillman started to see the pattern and moved into that space.

Didn't he think about, or be open to, switching to Mexico after the snub? Holy hell we dodged a bullet there thanks to that dumbass coaching staff.
No that was Obed Vargas… who is eligible for the next Olympic cycle. We also lost Esmir Bajraktarevic. Similar situation. And in both cases it was the dad pushing for the player to represent the home country.

I looked it up after thinking about it, Luna definitely left the door open for Mexico after the snub.
espn article
ETA: I don't actually think he was seriously considering it, probably was just frustrated at being left out and issuing a warning to US soccer at the same time.

For the love of God, in a country of 350 million, can someone please birth a legit striker!
Posted on 7/2/25 at 7:34 pm to ShrevetownTiger
We have at least 4 better strikers than him thankfully.
Balogun, Pepi, Haji, and Sargent are all better.
