I think players are realizing this. You’re seeing more desire to leave MLS by young players. If the MLS continues to put young players on contracts with so many years of team options, you may even see young guys go USL for future flexibility.

I got a ton of hate after the Haiti match, from the usual set of pro MLS posters on here when I said the level of players that MLS academies are producing that stay home isn’t very good

We are seeing on full display this tournament

Completely got sidetracked today/tonight and forgot about this so I didn’t tune in until around 55’. Has Hoppe ever been on the field with the A/B team? Granted I don’t fully understand what I’m looking at but it seems like he has been good in this tournament, even before the goal.

Twitter is raving about how well Acosta played. I just don't see the praise. He was good at winning the ball, like he usually is, but his inability to keep possession is why the game turned into a kick ball shitfest

Qatar isn’t that good but from a technical standpoint they are much better than this US team

Whole roster plays in Qatari league. Pretty much all of them split between just two club teams. They get a lot of playing time together.

Actually, Italian food is great for you. He can detox all the shite we eat and probably lose weight first then add muscle. Great thing he will have to walk 5 miles a day just to get around.

Man I want go back to Italy

He is a total liability going forward and for a team wants to play out that back that’s not good

Your #6 is supposed to be that bridge and we’ll he can’t pass or dribble very good

Forza Italia!

Hope they whip Gianluca and Weston into shape. Weston getting key reps playing with Ronaldo and Chiesa everyday. Need to watch some Chiesa highlights, that guy is Messiesque

IMO, Hoppe has been the best offensive player on the field by far and has outclassed Dike. He deserves minutes with the A team.

Chiesa was fine for Juventus last year, but didn’t stand out that much to me.

Interested to see if he makes the leap this year.

So you’re saying we should play Danny Williams at left wing ala Juergen?

He was a total liability with his passing and lack of possession. He was the main reason we couldn’t break the press in the first half. This was easily his worst game of the tournament.

It seems like MLS can get players to a level of competence and then they stagnate.

Acosta, Zardes, Darlington Nagbe, Dom Dwyer - all showed promise and then didn’t get any better

If we really want to be competitive on world stage we need kids around 11 or 12 to at least play summers overseas. When my son was almost serious I set up a plan to have him play goalie in Spain for a summer. (Goalie is only position they like Americans) lol. It didn’t happen because the Spanish economy crashed.

US male soccer is terrible because our soccer association is more interested in making money then developing talent. (And prop 48 no college scholarships etc) We need a billionaire white knight to step in and save the day. We need at least a few teams for each age group playing overseas every summer, and we need to be stealing players all over when they are preteen.

You really can’t learn shite here.

I disagree that you can't learn shite here. The opportunity is just different. We don't have the youth setup of European countries. Kids aren't specializing in soccer and when they are, they're playing way too many games and not training enough. Club soccer teams practice 2 or 3 times per week and play 3 or 4 games per week. It's crazy.

There have been 2 kids from Lafayette who have moved to play in Germany within the last year though.

I feel like Nagbe doesn't belong with those other names. He's been one of the best CMs in the league for several years.

Honestly, take an extra winger or defender.

Dropping McKennie back is probably our second best option, but if we're in a game that matters and Adams is hurt, we're fricked anyway. He is that important for everything we're trying to do.
