Tonight was all the proof you need of the difference in quality between Bruce and Jurgen. Bruce puts his guys in spots to succeed.

Spot on. With Bruce, we can definitely quibble about the lineup and tactics, but we aren't playing CDMs at LM or anything so incredibly stupid. Every game no longer feels like some attempt to show everyone that the coach is playing chess while we think checkers.

That was a really enjoyable game. My only issue with the line-up was Morris, but he had some good moments.

I like Morris with Jozy. I think that combination could do damage with Jozy's strength and JMo's speed. It almost manifested itself within 20 seconds of the game.

Jozy + JoMo (and Jozy + Bobby) make so much sense moving forward. Looked great tonight.

Playing Pulisic behind them will be even better.

Doing it in my fantasy 3-5-2 is what the streets demand.

That sequence for our first goal was absolutely beautiful. Nagbe fighting off defenders with his godly touches, Dempsey with a perfect turn and through ball to Jozy, who slotted it home at full speed. Just glorious to watch.

And Deuce made Pemberton look like a noob with that free kick. He knew it was a goal as soon as he hit it.

Just a very satisfying performance today. That's the best we've played in quite some time. And we've only trailed a handful of minutes (against Venezuela) in the 13 games.

I also thought Besler had a fantastic game, outside of his horrible backpass to give away a corner kick. Saved the back four multiple times. If he can continue to play at this high level for Sporting KC, he'll have every opportunity to earn a ticket to Russia.

Deuce took out 5 defenders on that assist with the turn, drive and pass. What a fricking play

Great games by Nagbe, Bradley, Villafana and Besler as well. Nobody played bad.

Michael bradley finally gets to play in a final for the USMNT. Missed the 2007 Gold Cup final and the 2009 Confed Cup final due to red cards.

I liked a lot of what I saw tonight. The interplay and maneuverability from the midfield was inspiring. I'd be fine with pretty much everyone that played tonight making it to Russia, save maybe Zusi. I think besler may have leapfrogged Omar since he can play multiple positions and might straight up be better at CB

I think Besler and Omar are the clear 3rd and 4th central defenders for Russia.

Ream still has something to say about that, but I think this tournament has me trusting Besler more than any of our CB's not named Cameron or Brooks.

2011 gold cup bro

ETA: Nagbe was fricking awesome today. And he would have looked even better if the referee knew how to properly give a god damn advantage vs free kick.

Ah shite... he scored in that one too, off a Freddy Adu corner of all things.

I'm dumb.

They couldn't knock him off the ball.
