If not for a brief moment of brilliance by Pulisic and a good header by Weston, we could (?should) have lost the game.

That said, if Bradley, Pulisic, and Zardes finish their chances this game ends 4-0 and the narrative changes completely. I’m curious what our xG was for this game.

Our lack of anything creative in the second half probably evened it out. But yeah, we should've been up at least 2-0 by halftime.

Pulisic, Adams and McKennie are widely thought of as best 3 aren’t they?

I would agree with that. Think Pulisic and Adams are clearly the best two right now.

I think I saw it was ~1.8. Curacao was around 0.8-0.9.

on point response. in the limited time Tyler was in Germany, he showed himself to be in the top 10, probably top 5 central midfielders in Germany.

I don’t think it’s really that big of a question. Pulisic gets the press because he’s always going to be in an attacking position, and rightfully so.

but Tyler Adams is going to be a world class midfielder when it’s all said and done

I know you watch a fair amount as well, and I think a lot of us that follow it were able to see just how good Tyler Adams is. If you only watched the last World Cup cycle or follow the game casually, you’re absolutely going to think Pulisic is way better.

He still might be better, I was just more impressed with Adams.

Per Paul Carr-

U.S.: 1.86 xG on 10 shots
Curacao: 0.61 xG on 15 shots

I will say, our defense has been pretty good this tourney. Seems like there is one or two WTF moments each game, but overall our defensive posture has been pretty good.

Berhalter confirmed that Jozy was fully fit for Sunday’s game. God damnit, Gregg.

If that's the case, then maybe he was saving him for tomorrow.

But if Jozy isn't starting tomorrow then this will be Jurgy-levels in terms of misjudging talent and playing favorites.

Remember when Juergen kept saying Jozy would be healthy after his hamstring injury in the 2014 WC but we knew he wasn’t but he said it just to try to throw off the other team? This is starting to feel eerily similar.

That has to be the case since Berhalter stated at the beginning of the tournament that in his eyes, Jozy is the #1 striker for the US team right now.

I'm one of Jozy's biggest fans, but if he is practicing like he's played in his 120' of this tournament, I can see it being a difficult decision between him and Zardes. I think Jozy's touch has been poor so far. So do you go with Jozy, knowing what he's capable of even if he hasn't been showing it, or do you go with the guy that has Jozy's current level of touch but will give you a lot more defensively.

I think that's what Gregg meant a week or so ago when he said "You know what you're going to get from Gyasi." An in form Jozy is clearly our number, and I think Gregg has said that.

We knew well before this camp that Jozy was coming in with rust due to injury. His lack of touch, which is one of his best traits, is clear that he is not 100% in shape.

The fact that our only options for a target striker are an out-of-shape Jozy and Zardes was a huge error made by Berhalter. Coaches make mistakes, but the fact that pretty much everyone saw something like this playing out, while Sargent was sent home does not bode well for Berhalter.

I don't think leaving an even rustier forward at home is that big of a mistake.

But bringing in Djordje Mihailovic really brought the squad together.

I am so tired of hearing about Zardes on defense. If the best thing your striker offers you is defense then he shouldn't fricking be there. Period.

Sargent may be rustier but isn’t he more talented?

You needed another CM. After Holmes had to drop out, that left only McKennie, Pulisic, and Roldan to cover 2 positions.

No matter what happened, there was going to be a spot where depth was razor thin. I'd argue that we should've shored up the depth at striker.

Sargent would've been more useful at this point than Djordje.
