Vazquez has been non-existent since entering. Jesus was at least breaking lines with passes while he was not shooting in front of goal.

Just a reminder that Ferreira’s 7 goals have come against T&T (2), Panama, and Grenada (4).

OMG, that’s awesome! Let’s leave Pepi and Pefok home and take him instead. - Ferreira apologists

Ya, outside of the Morroco friendly and the the 3 goals in the WC we haven't scored a single goal against anyone with a pulse in a very long time.

I don't think Pefok knows how to score a goal anymore.

Jones has been very lively this camp. Never really liked as a player on the limited times I've seen him, but this has been a nice debut.

Yeah, hard to say if ggg’s system sucked for scoring, or if our inability to score made the system look like it sucked. I think more the former than the latter though.

The system puts the #9 on an island. Just a total disservice to who is playing in that spot unless they start their positioning on the other side of midfield.

Agreed, good case for 2-0 if Vazquez can make decent contact.

feels like our last dozen passing maps have indicated we’re playing a false 9, but obviously aren’t playing anyone with those qualities in the position. if we’re going to keep using this “system”, it’d sure be nice to at least see what putting a 10/winger type there would show

Ferreira and sometimes Sargent are the only guys that have shown they'll do it... that's a problem.

I think a part of it is that we don't play any attacking midfielders, and just expect the wings to tuck in and take over that role with the outside backs overlapping as wingers.

Seems like the less complicated fix would be to play a 10 instead of 2 8's, but that would mean having to bench one of Musah or McKennie.

Sargent’s work rate definitely matches the role, but it’s a pointless thought exercise when Gregg himself hasn’t clearly articulated what he wants out of that position. we can’t keep doing this for much longer. a decision needs to be made, and the sooner the better
