Bailly down injured in training before tomorrow's game. Hopefully means Axel will start.

This just shows why it was dumb to give Bailly a new contract, too injury prone.

Between James and TAA he'd only come in as a defensive sub, but at least for me I'd always prefer to make defensive subs in the Midfield not the backline.

With that said, TAA is a liability with his back to the goal, but I don't know if that outweighs his offensive benefits.

Villareal's backup came close a few times. De gea guessed right on 3 out of 11 and got his hand to 1 out of 11. Embarrassing. Their GK got his fingertips to 3 of the United shots before the save on De Gea (Bruno, Shaw, Lindelof). He also smashed home his penalty. De Gea just isn't good at saving penalties.

I was wrong though. De Gea hasn't always been awful at saving penalties. He had a pretty good record in his first few years at United, but he's been horrible since 15/16. Carragher just said he hasn't had a save in his last 35 penalties coming into the match. So adding in the penalties today, he doesn't have one save in his last 46 penalties. That's just not good at all.

Well I expected everyone to realize that fact on their own. I just wanted to point out that he is 0 for his last 46.

I can

As much as we love OGS this match highlights what we all already knew that he is tactically limited at time

Y'all are very dumb if you don't dump OGS and hire Conte.

I hope Chelsea win.

Rumblings of De Gea/Oblak swap. Would probably include a little cash heading Atleti’s way as well. I’d take it but I hate that we are writing off De Gea.

I really like De Gea, but just don't know if he's worth his wage. If we bring in another cheaper keeper so that money can be used in another role all things being equal, I'm okay with it.

I do agree with the wage thing. They are ridiculous. Club legend it just feels wrong the way it is ending.

I just don't understand how United can not find a top tier CDM to single handedly be the pivot in a midfield three with Pogba and Bruno. Am I naive to think nearly every successful Champions League team has a single pivot? Kante/Rodri/Casemiro/Busquets/Fabinho/Kimmich…..I’m hoping they can get Rice. Fingers crossed.
