P.S. All respect to Salzburg who played direct and gave a fantastic effort.

It’s time to sit either gini or hendo and play ox or keita

Sit hendo. He tries skills that are not in his locker. These lead to chances a lot. He’s best games are when he keeps it simple and sticks to what he’s good at.
He’s not the only one that struggles with trying to do more than necessary.
Keita and Chamberlain need a long run of good health.

I’ve always thought Ox, Keita and Fab are our MF that Klopp envisioned. Problem is neither has stayed healthy, the vets have held them off and there is no room for error.

I don’t agree. I think he sets his midfield based on what’s needed in the match. Fabinho is set in his position but the other 2 can be changed for what’s needed.
I would always want at least one of chamberlain/keita in the midfield

I agree that Fabinho at the #6 is locked down... on ability alone, you'd think Keita would be nailed down, but because of adaption and injuries that hasn't happened yet... The third place is the wild card for me...
Hopefully, Keita can nail down an automatic spot... but I think for now, Klopp will continue to rotate the other two midfield spots based on a combination of current form and a need to rest..

Man, Hendo still gets a lot of shite here, but (and remember i didnt watch Wednesday) i think hes playa pretty big role for us over the last 12 months and has largely earned his stripes
He may not be the most technically amazing player, but his leadership and direction on the pitch at this point can't be denied
I also agree the MF is set based on scouting and needs of that particular match

He’s technically bad, if we’re being honest. He wouldn’t make any of our European rivals squads and doesn’t contribute goals or assists; we’ve got plenty leaders. He tracks back and helps out Trent, but if he didn’t lose the ball in key positions high up the pitch that wouldn’t be necessary.

I understand that the MF changes due to opponent and competition etc. The only thing I am saying is your last comment, Fab is a lock and either Ox/Keita should be another one. The problem is like I said, health, trust and razor thin competition with City. I just wish we were at a point where Ox and Keita could be where Fab is now. The ceiling for those two are a lot higher than Hendo and Gini. Take in mind, Hendo is very valuable to this squad and if Gini is the "right Gini" he can obviously change a match. Good news, we are 7 for 7 in the league without the best GK in the world and the triangle of Fab, VVD, Matip (still cant believe I'm saying this) and AB look rock solid when together. We just need to keep getting 3 points no matter how we do it.

I wouldn't call him bad, just not great, or even good. He does a lot of good things in our midfield though. His problem, as I see it, is that he too often gets stuck in a really un-balanced midfield. And when he's even slightly off his game, its even worse.
At his best, he's slightly right and box to box. Supporting behing Salah, sending in quick crosses, helping break up the opponents possession. But he needs a good holding midfielder behind him, and someone with creativity to his left to help balance things out.
Our main issue is a lack of creativity from most of our midfielders.

Did I miss where Matip got injured or something? Where’s he been?
Also interesting that Shaq is left off in favor of the youngster. Wonder if he’s hurt again or just fell out of favor. Thought Klopp ensured us he’d be worked into the lineup more this season.
