It really sucks that Lovren isn’t a good player because after all the behind the scenes stuff watched I’ve in the last few months he seems like an awesome friend and coworker

He has his moments, but I wouldn’t say he’s a bad player. Last few games he’s played I don’t recall him making any major mistakes. Really big of him to stay bc in my opinion he could be and maybe should be starting for a decent side in Serie A.

He’s one of the best 4th choice CB in club football. We will need him this season

For real. He’s not that bad and a perfect guy to have at 4th choice.
When he’s on, he physically has the ability to be a top CB. Long as VvD is with him, it’s gravy.

He's an awful defender and is making way too much money (£100k/wk) to be a 4th choice... and not even making the bench...
That said, I am just happy that it looks like he will no longer feature for us in any meaningful matches, unless injuries hit our CBs... Hopefully, he will be gone in January, if not, surely this summer..
edit: I just wish one the two young dutch CBs were a little older/experienced...

A touch of light finally dawns on why Liverpool backed away from the Nabil Fekir deal in summer 2018.

Seems likely, looking at all the leaking stories, that Fekir had someone come in at the last minute NOT his agent to try to force a move to Liverpool for his brother.
And, also likely, thinking they had a deal, Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp were probably not keen on being pressured in that manner and thus backed away from the deal due to "medical issues".
Then ultimately seeing Fekir move to Real Betis practically dirt-cheap in todays market with Real Betis ALSO TAKING HIS BROTHER seems to me to confirm a lot.
