Lovren was absolute garbage.

last night was glorious! Loved it...
Bobby was fricking outstanding!! That false 9 position... dropping deep with Mane and Salah as wide runners... Can through the middle...
Missing another creative outlet in the midfield (Cou), to really get this attack humming...
If we can get VVD(or someone at LCB) and allow Moreno/Robertson to do their thing in attack, that would be great!! It's been so nice to watch those two get forward the past two matches...

I thought Moreno was great. He's never going to be a stonewall defender, but he made feat runs and was a menace on the left.

Yeah, I actually thought Moreno had a decent game, he was really good going forward, and I don't recall any super horrible defending by him (in fact the only chance for Hoff that came from his side was a mistake by Lovren iirc)

We could use more depth in midfield especially a true box to box or DM. We can always use another speedy winger but the season could very well hang on whether we get a CB to pair with Matip. As great as this is if I would have told any of you the day after last season ended that Dejan Lovren would be out first choice alongside Matip and we would have spent this amount in the window you would have laughed me off the board. I don't care whose fault it is but after watching us going forward it is a travesty that we have not addressed this glaring issue. We are so damn close to being REALLY GOOD but if we don't pull this out before Sept 1 it will be our Achilles heel again preventing us from trophies and true glory this season.

Agreed, I think you're spot on, we're a CB away from being a serious competitor for some kind of silverware this season

I mean, we have a 3/7 chance of an ok draw from pot 1.
Pot 2 is pretty much tough no matter what. Porto the weakest, so call is 1/6 chance of a good draw there.

We really need City and United to draw Madrid, Bayern, and Juve so we lock in avoiding them before Pot 3 comes up. Would be icing on the cake if Chelsea then drew PSG or Atletico from Pot 2 to lock them out as well.
