Even if Gregg was doing fine, that part is still unforgivable for so many reasons. Here are a few off the top of my head.

1) Gregg could've been hired literally the day after we lost to Trinidad.

2) Having no manager for an entire year gave no chance for the program to build momentum both with the players because they were playing in a system that didn't matter and there was no reason for the fans to stay attached to a program that treated an entire year as a lame duck.

3) Twellman brought this up during the match today, waiting an entire year for Gregg didn't allow for him to go through the growing pains as a NT manager in matches that had no stakes. Instead we thrust him into a 2019 campaign where we have a Gold Cup and Nations League. Granted, those don't really matter but it doesn't really afford you time to experiment.

Everything leading up to this hire and the hire itself was just handled completely wrong.

At least if we had hired him back then we would have seen the dumpster fire a year earlier and maybe had time to actually organize a competent team for qualifying.

Yep, 2018 was a completely lost year and, coming off the heels of the qualifying debacle, I can't believe that was the decided plan of action among the USSF brass.

It put the program on life support.

Bc the leadership at USSF has no idea what it is doing

When you have so many non soccer people in the high up executive positions you get results like this.

Even if they aren't soccer people, any competent businessman would know that waiting never works.

God damn I wish I could have seen that locker room after the game. I bet it was more awkward than an episode of the office.

I'm sure Gregg gave a rousing speech of how they are still on track to where they want to be like he did after the Mexico loss.

Serious question, what would it actually take to get Greg fired? He’s insulated from the top. This debacle will be forgotten about by the time the first games roll around this weekend, more or less. There’s really nothing he can do to get fired before WCQ is there?

I think the only shot of him getting fired is if high profile players like Pulisic turn down national team call-ups. How rare would that be?

He’s not getting fired, and ultimately every argument about it is a waste of time.

I didn’t watch the game, but sign me up. Burn the whole thing down.

Stu Holden got roasted on twitter for the athletes council voting for Cordeiro. It was much deserved.
