Wouldn’t have changed. The usual talking points would have rolled out in defence. USSF is a corporate propaganda board at this point.

Why would this not matter?

I gave you context and an example to explain this. It doesn’t matter how much the players like the coach if they are playing like shite and not getting results. There is no meaningful difference between a well liked coach that doesn’t get results and a hated coach that doesn’t get results. It feels like we are the same trajectory as Jurgen’s teams right now. Fortunately for Berhaltner, he won’t have to qualify for this next World Cup.

You and Broski’s points are a different discussion altogether. It’s fine to say that we don’t have better options, but it’s also dumb to point out how much the players like him as if to confirm he is the right coach for this team. We constantly underperform. He’s not the right coach for this team. In addition USSF is long overdue for a major overhaul.

We are beginning to hear a manta out of mainstream soccer people about not having a signature win. I think not winning against Jamaica would have put Gregg firmly in the hot seat. If we don't get our of the group in Copa he will be done.

I respect your hope-a-meter. Mine is not as strong. The mere fact of rehiring Gregg, along with protecting him by not letting him take the job immediately before the tournament last summer tells me all I need to know about the situation.

I'm just tired of it all. No new ground is being broken on here, it's the same cast of characters (myself included) saying the same thing over and over again.

Fire him or don't fire him, I don't care anymore. Just beat Mexico tomorrow, that's all I care about.

You are probably correct.

A lethargic attitude represented among the USMNT fan base that I share. Apathy is worse than hate. I am apathetic

It’s not apathy of the program, like I had in 2018 and 19. I’m fricking pumped for a Mexico match with a trophy on the line tomorrow.

It’s apathy of the never-evolving discourse

This. It’s just everyone spewing the same talking points and no one is changing their minds at this point. It’s gotten stale.

Is the general feeling that Gregg is the coach through 2026 no matter what?

We would have to lose all of our games at copa america for him to get fired at this point.

I’m not saying he’s the right coach for the team, but I am saying in a realistic world he’s probably the best we can do for now. At least the players love the guy and are ready to bust their balls for him and the badge.

And a question that still never gets answered for some reason

We constantly underperform.

I feel like we play about to our level. Like all US teams of the past we play down to the level of our competition at times, which is frustrating. I think our offensive performance overall is stale and I hate the aimless crossing.

He’s not the right coach for this team.

Ok, I can follow this, but who do you think should replace him?

Oh hey, something we agree on. Cheers baw

I like the counter attacking style of the underdog. String D. Spring some fast counters.
Some Jose Mourinho defense.

I not it is not liked.

But I enjoy it.

And he’s available.

How can we use ego stroking to cover some of the cost.
