This is objectively true, but it is hard to be positive on that team. It would be one thing if they lost in a competitive match that just didn't go their way. Then we'd be saying, this is about as good as this team could be. However, they were dominated. The most talented group with the highest profile coach were just outclassed.

I don't get this really. Our performance show we are better. That we didn't hit a ceiling, and this is as good as we can be.

People are frustrated because they know we can be better. That's a much better place to be in then being defeated before even playing one game. Hey, just happy to be here is where we used to be.

The fact that Ream was even on our squad is a great example of how poorly run we are. There’s no young hungry CB that we could’ve chosen or prepped the last 4 years for this moment? Instead we just waste time keeping a 40yr old MLS bum. Thats not investing in the future.

We bowed out at the same stage as Brazil and by a more embarrassing margin. I don't give a crap about group stage stats.

This is a loser's mentality.

The concept of the thread is lost on you.

It sucks losing like we did last night but it also seems we're on the way up.

A lot of Debbie Downers on this site.

Not sure how many here watch college football (gridiron), but a friend of mine told me this AM that it felt like watching Mark Richt vs. Nick Saban. They just completely flopped; the kind of loss where there's enough blame for everyone to take their share, coach & team.

Just a complete meltdown. Not only were we flat out worse than Belgium skill-wise, we were mentally broken in a humiliating fashion. Someone here said it best "we peed our pants" like a 3 year old.

The frustrating thing is knowing how much better we could've been by just playing our B/B+ game. We battled right back to make it 1-1 and had a great chance to make it 2-2 before Freese was possessed by the evil soccer gods. Belgium is good but beatable & we punched ourselves right out of the fight
