While disappointing, we did win the group.

I honestly fell asleep in the second half. Dortmund finished 2nd in their group. You know we will draw them. LOL

Any of you know about his Grosskreutz cat that we are linked with? A couple of Turkish reports are saying Galatasaaray miffed some paperwork and we jumped on him with a three year worth 1.8M, and that he'll be here in January.

Vs Sion

Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Smith, Henderson, Milner, Can, Lallana, Firmino, Origi.

Subs: Bogdan, Randall, Skrtel, Rossiter, Brannagan, Coutinho, Benteke.

We didn't have too much choice, but was anyone else disappointed in so many key guys starting this game when we have a big game to get back on track this weekend?

Also, it was about as boring as Rodgers last few months. Origi had one decent chance that he probably could have put away (i still think he may have been able to get a head on it).

West Brom mand Pulis are usually not the guys you want to play when you need some confidence in being able to break a team down.

Not really... I'm glad he rested Moreno (Smith looked good and puts in a nice cross)... The only one I wish he rested was Clyne, but I understand why he wouldn't want two kids at FB...

Sentiment on twitter was, it must be like watching a Man U match under LvG

Middle of the week Europa on the road on a shite pitch and we draw and advance is fine by me. NUFC sucked though but I figure we were due one of those.

I trust Jurgen. He's also stated that Europa is important, and we needed a result to top the group. Gives us a much better chance at getting a favorable round of 32 draw. The game was so boring it was essentially a workout for 90 minutes.

As for this weekend, I'm torn between benching Firmino or starting him. Coutinho is back from injury and looks likely to start and the only good performances from Firmino has been with Cou on the pitch.

I've heard him described as the German Milner. Not fantastic in any area really but serviceable. There are a lot of people that aren't too excited about this.

German Milner
That was the first name that really came to my head also

He's very versatile, he'll work hard, and he knows the system. He'd make a very good squad player, but at this point I don't think we need squad players. We need to upgrade the first XI and we need difference makers.

Would rather firmino than bentenke but otherwise I like it. Looking forward to can and Hendo in starting at the same time.

I'm with you, but we need to get the big man firing... Firmino has been a little off form.. I just love the link up with him and Cou

I think against a Tony Pulis side, Benteke matches up better than Firmino. Hope it works out
