Really makes me appreciate Big Game Bob. How as a coach can you expect players to play YOUR game when they have no idea what it is YOU want? I'm not even going to touch on the German-American players relationships with the other players. That's some shite they [the players] all have to work out themselves.

“Things are boiling over,” a source said. “The feeling now is that this is (Klinsmann’s) last chance against Costa Rica.”

Looks like Jurgen will be coaching for his job on Friday.

US youth academies wasn't as bad as most people made it out to be. IMO. It just takes time. I think over the course of the past three world cup cycles. It has greatly improved.

Thomas Rongen was a wonderful U-20 talent Identifier and talent developer. His in-game management was TERRIBLE. Ultimately, pissing off Neven Subotic (who may have never wanted to play for the US anyway), and missing out on the 2011 U-20 cup cost him his job.

But as far as a YOUTH coach, he was phenomenal. The actual US Soccer youth system (the actual U-xx teams) are (or were) fine. It's the nation's youth coaching as a whole that is dysfunctional.

But the US youth teams did a good enough job producing enough talent for the full national team.

Concur.

Also, I'm not a Klinnsmann apologist. BUT, SOME of this talk from players makes them sound immature and whiny. From a lot of talk, Klinsmann is available for criticism and wants to hear from players, as well. However, it doesn't sound like some of the players run to him. They'd rather run to the media.

We need to fire him Saturday regardless of the outcome and do what we can to salvage this campaign. If we don't qualify it will set soccer in this country back 10 years.

Are we going to have to call Jason Kreis or Bruce Arena? I don't know if we have that savior waiting in the wings.

Bob is probably tired of people dying over soccer in Egypt.

I think his buyout is his first born or his left hand.

That's not surprising either. Often times we look like we have no idea what we're doing out there. Especially when you factor in that he's just plugging in defensive mids as wide players. We look like a bunch of rhinos trying to frick a doorknob.

Kreis is the national team manager-in-waiting. I wouldn't take this flaming bag of shite if I were him. I'd wait until the next cycle.

I think the way Bob was shown the door would preclude him coming back, though perhaps the opportunity to coach Michael in another World Cup might be enough.

Bruce Arena has a massive ego, so USSF running to him to save the day is right up his alley. He could leave the Galaxy to one of his assistants.

There's also the possibility of calling on Reyna or Ramos, but if we only get one point out of the next two games, that isn't really the place for an inexperienced manager.

If anything, I'd guess that there would be so many wanting to just help make sure we qualify (the Kellers, Cobi Joneses, Lalases of the world) that picking a cohesive group woul be the toughest part.

My oh my how the tables have turned for JK on this board... I have no comments on it, I'm just pulling for the Stars and Stripes, no matter how much bitching or defending is done of JK on here it's irrelevant.

Eta: those quotes would carry infinitely more substance if whoever said them didn't speak on anonymity.. We don't know who said that stuff

Yeah Arena would probably show up at the introductory presser wearing a solid gold suit with Landon Donovan under his arm.

I don't hate Jurgen Klinsmann, I think he's honestly trying his best. I just don't think he's very good at this. I was always lukewarm on the idea and I love most Germans.

I almost feel like we are in position to stay with JK through this cycle. I am not entirely sure that anyone could taken it over quickly and relatively successfully. I would think the best chance would be with Bob, since he has managed a decent amount of these guys.

Barring a World Cup championship victory over Mexico culminating in Landon Donovan taking a steamy dump on Rafa Marquez's face, I would not bring him back for sure.

Is Bruce Arena as an assistant coach a crazy idea? Clearly jurgen needs help putting this team together.

Also Bruce is from the USA.
