Different players and Mix isn't quite ready to be "the guy" yet. Maybe one day, but not yet.

ETA: obviously different players different styles

You definitely insinuated that, even if it wasn't on purpose.

I'm sorry you are so insecure that you get offended when somebody points out that a player is average when compared to the rest of the world and above average when compared to U.S. talent.

You said that good players turn the ball over all the time because of poor first touch. Then, after this foolish statement, you say:

quote:

Good players in the middle of the park lose the ball all the time for all sorts of reasons. It's not a high percentage role in the slightest. You may play and watch but it hasn't taught you shite about the game because you're honestly clueless.

I never said that good players don't lose the ball. You are the fool who said that good players lose the ball all the time because of poor first touch, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Nobody in hear will agree with you on that. If that's not what you meant, then just say it.

Yes, Bradley did.

That doesn't mean he and mix are similar

WTF is wrong with you people?

Bradley overall was poor in the World Cup. Especially by his standard. It's not really debatable at all.

It doesn't mean he sucks or should never play for the USNT again. He just picked a bad time to have a rough spell. He worked hard and got better as the tournament went on but he was terrible in the first two matches.

Doesn't mean you have to act like women because someone points out the obvious.

He was the worst player on our team the first two matches. He was just an average non-factor like everyone else against Germany and had a pretty good game against Belgium.

That is not what you need from the guy that is probably the best player on your team. If you don't think he was poor overall then your opinion of him to start with must be pretty terrible.

There's a difference between not playing as well as possible and being "poor." It's easy to look at a bad pass or an errant touch and say a player was a donkey but why don't you try to be a little bit more rational about the situation. A guy trying to play attacking midfielder with Alejandro Bedoya, Graham Zusi and Clint Dempsey as his only passing outlets.

Jermaine Jones played so well because he was playing in a more box to box mold where he was asked to frick shite up defensively and provide support offensively.

Michael Bradley was asked to provide defensive cover and be the only one to start attacks. Most of the time he was trying to create something out of nothing and there were some points in time where he could have and should have done better, I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

After Jozy got hurt and we didn't have any real striker in the team, it was damn near impossible for us to put together any sort of attack. Dempsey is a supporting striker, yeah he'll try to win balls but he's not a target forward.

I honestly have no idea what some of you expected Bradley to be able to accomplish in those circumstances.

I'd give him a C for the tournament and I think that's where most of our players fell.

they share a 30k cap stadium with another team and their team only draws a paltry avg attendance of 9,149

that's not better competition....frick the MLS doubles their avg at 18,807

Kashonly -- I don't really care what argument you're making about Michael Bradley specifically in the WC but you seem rather dense to argue attendance is any measure of how much quality a European club team has.

It's more likely you just know absolutely nothing about Serie A aside from what you're picking up off a quick glance at wikipedia yet spouting it out, half informed.

To stick with your comfort zone of American football metaphors:

It's fair enough to say Chievo is like Vanderbilt of the SEC (but closer to the recent 6-6 or 7-5 version of Vandy).

(In fact, you may be interested to know that even their nickname refers to how small the club is and how much they've recently excelled by making into the top flight and doing pretty well there.)

However, comparing Chievo to the MLS is like comparing Vandy to the Sun Belt-- at very best--- in terms of quality roster and DIV II in terms of the kind of schedule they face.

Dude all of those gifs are from youth tournaments. if we're going off those, Freddy Adu is still a stud.

Also, the last one is against South Africa not Russia.

So who would you have put in his place? Yes he was poor this WC, but who on our 23 would you have started in his place? Heck name someone who didn't make the cut that could take his place?

If you want to see the Michael Bradley we all know and love watch this.

then maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, because that video is exactly what I'm talking about

passes off line and momentum stopping. he has difficulty leading players...and then other times he beems a pass at short distance right into a teammate leading to them losing possession.

18 secs in- he can move with the ball and he just turns and kicks it right into a cluster at mid

38 sec- piss poor set piece

1:10- has 20 yards to push, he pass it to side, allowing def to regroup

1:30- cleats a guy, sees that he's injured, poor sportsmanship kicks it trying for a break

1:48- has 4 vs 3 guys sitting in front of goal for him to pass to to score.....he decides to take it out wide allowing def to regroup and then his center is high

2:05- gains possession at the top of own box, has room, kicks it forward 30 yards straight to guarded man who soon loses possession

2:48- gets a great ball in front of goal, has no touch and loses it

3:08- has 10 yards room, uncovered teammates 10 and 20 yards to his side that he can lead.....he kicks it to covered middle and possession lost

3:15- 6+ foot midfielder loses header in mid field

3:35- kicks it to covered forward versus open center mid, possession lost

4:00- another over shot poor set piece

4:11- has room, decided to run up and beem it to covered forward who can't do anything with ball, possession almost lost, gets ball back, and switches field....but bad pass that kills momentum..gets it back, then poorly lead passes a runner

4:50 makes a great def play...gets possession has numbers in mid to lead attack......long ball to covered forward...ball out of bounds

5:15- another example of a momentum killing short pass

I would have to agree with you here. He made almost all the right decisions with his passes in that one. For example, your critique on 5:15, he had no other option and was surrounded by 3 defenders on his back. Also, 1:10, he plays it out wide and lets his guys get forward. In soccer, you generally get the ball wide and play it into the middle.

Watch more games and you'll see how it's played and why guys make certain decision in certain situations.

Those Mix gifs just remind me that the team that lost that match ended up winning the goal medal, while the winning team failed to even qualify for the Olympics.

the left Wing in that case would have to be making the run into space.....which there was...but the wing had to stop and wait for the ball while the defenders closed the open space

its a bad pass back, unaware of surroundings, kills momentum.

he should pass back on the second touch not wait, and then have to shank it his third touch

I don't mean to single you out because you are just one of many. That being said, there are a lot of people saying stuff like this over and over; if someone doesn't agree with you or has a different opinion then he/she needs to learn more about soccer. It's condescending and frankly tiresome by this point.

None of you are experts.
