Im wondering if the group would have played out for us in the reverse order... lose, draw, win... it would have been more palatable for these mental little people...
That's exactly how it worked out for Portugal, but something tells me not one Portuguese fan is very happy right now. Maybe SuperSaint can set them straight though.

but I do have an issue with the goalie from Ghana intentionally giving the game to Portugal, so that the US could advance.
Do you know anything about the Ghana/USA past history when it comes to the World Cup.
Ghana didn't give us shite.

Yes.
We have animosity towards Ghana. They don't have any towards us

Nah. He threw the game.
Don't you know anything about Bama/Tennessee football history? If you did, you wouldn't ever root for Tennessee.

Anyone that loses during a regular season should be automatically eliminated from the post season. Fact.
Didn't think I was going to get this onslaught... From my understanding they spend billions in this country for WC and that the "regular season" so to speak was all the qualifying that has taken place to get people to the big stage of the WC..
I guess I was wrong and what has been on my news feed and al over the TV has just been the equivalent of regular season games.... Sorry I dick to come out of it's sleeve with the rest of the uncircumcised euro trash.
I'll know next time that the fist half
Of
The WC is actually just kinda like
The regular season and that half the teams get
In the playoffs which actually start in the 2nd half of
The WC... Can I consider the qualifying and play in games over the last couple years that I remember the Soccar board being in uproar about when we beat Mexico is someone like that to actually qualify the WC, to be pretty much ye equivalent to the pre season? Am I getting this kinda correct when comparing it to Merican futbol!?

WNBA
Look, its very similar to Olympics. So many participants you have to narrow the feild. Then you have to narrow it even more.
32 countries out of hundreds made it. You need that many teams because just qualifying doesn't tell the whole story. Players have to make a living. The 23 players you take aren't necessarily available during qualifying. Then the level of teams are not equal across the globe. It actually makes perfect sense, because our group was tough based on a random draw. So 2 teams get out. We made it out of the group for getting better results than 2 other teams. They then match the 2nd place with the first place, so if we beat Belgium, why shouldn't we have had the opportunity to do so. Our group was harder to get out of.
Every major American professional sport uses a play off system where the 1st place team doesn't always win it all. Giants and cards are recent teams that in ur line of thinking shouldn't have even been given the opportunity to do so.

Well there is no real analogy to American football. The World Cup is a massive tournament has multiple stages. The last two stages are what are knowing as the World Cup Finals. There is the group stage, and then the knockout stage. We've just made it to the knockout stage.

Laugh all you want.
That goalie threw the game. I'm sure he was compensated financially.

It seemed he lacks awareness and couldn't communicate with his centerbacks. Notice how the Portuguese striker makes it impossible for him to catch it by playing his head exactly where the GK would have held the ball. It was still poor play by the GK as he could have tipped it over, but the midfielders should never have Ronaldo free in the box anyway. I seriously doubt he engineered to have the game thrown, as at that point Ghana was still in the game. If he wanted to throw the game, he wouldn't have made an absolutely brilliant save on Ronaldo earlier in the game.

If your NFL team lost in week 17 but still advanced to the playoffs, you wouldn't be happy and celebrate?

That's silly. He could have easily caught it.
He threw the game. It's beyond obvious.

That final goal meant nothing in the end.

He didn't know that.
He was paid to make sure that the US advanced. He made sure.

We had a serious blunder giving the first goal against Portugal. It happens.

Based on the number of responses, I'm going to say OP did a pretty good job here.

Our goalie fricked up on the second goal against Portugal as well.
The goalie from Ghana had an easily catchable ball, and he chose to pass it to one of the best players in the world, who just happened to play for the opposing team.
That ball should have been easily caught.

That point blank save on the Ronaldo header was just to trick everyone into thinking he was trying.
