I think he is clearly the best English striker but damn the running of a Bamford, Watkins or Wilson would make this “system” work better particularly without the ball

This is my take as well. The system needs tweaking.
You saw a glimpse at the end what Kane can do when he drops deep. Opened up a great avenue for Kalvin to run into once Kane pulled the CBs out of position. Unfortunately Kane uncharacteristically over-cooked the pass.
