I think he was taking the stance Liverpool fans calling people out on spending is the pot calling the kettle black

Liverpool has historically been one of the biggest spenders and it almost sank the club into administration

Liverpool fans getting on the spending soap box is hypocritical

Yea if they're talking to Arsenal fans. Not if they're talking to fans of a club in Manchester. The numbers are freely available on the internet, there's no need to argue it.
