There are rumors churning that City is under investigation again with UEFA and could face a competition ban.....
that would be awesome
but this is the best story from the leaks
quote:
Swansea were reportedly tricked into improving contract terms with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski following a fake offer from Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Jonas Boldt, according to Football Leaks.
Fabianski, who now plays for West Ham, joined Swansea from Arsenal on a free transfer in 2014, signing a four-year deal.
After the Polish goalkeeper impressed in his first season at Swansea, Spielerrat, an agency that had worked with Fabianski for some time, looked to make money from the situation, as reported by Der Spiegel.
quote:
Fabianski was earning £35,000 per week but Spielerrat reportedly demanded for his wages to be increased to £50,000 per week.
As part of the deal, Fabianski would sign a one-year contract extension until 2019, which would result in an agency fee of £760,000 for the first season and £480,000 for each of the ensuing three seasons. As a consequence, the agency stood to make a total of £2.2million.
Spielerrat, headed by Daniel Delonga, Thorsten Wirth and Hannes Winzer, reportedly decided to exert pressure on Swansea so that the contract extension would go ahead
quote:
On May 28, 2015, Wirth formulated an e-mail on behalf of Boldt that claimed, falsely, that Leverkusen were interested in signing Fabianski in the event that Bernd Leno would leave.
Wirth eventually forwarded the e-mail to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins and the club responded to the pressure by extending Fabianski's contract. It was announced recently that Boldt will be leaving Leverkusen this summer.
When contacted for comment by Der Spiegel, Bayer Leverkusen managing director of sport Rudi Voller said that 'a number of goalkeepers were being considered as possible candidates to replace Bernd Leno' in May 2015.
In addition, a lawyer for the agents from Spielerrat issued a statement on their behalf saying they would not tolerate 'false or speculative reporting.'

UEFA swinging that big dick with City and Chelsea

We will be tied up with UEFA for years in court before we accept a ban. It may eventually happen, but Mansour and Khaldoon will spend millions to fight this in court.

PSG doesn’t have any real history as it’s not even 50 years old and was never a power until it’s owners came around.
Cup Winners Cup winners in 1996 and won 17 trophies in the 40 years before QSI. That’s a lot better than most clubs in Europe.
Regardless bashing PSG for being a young club is mind numbingly stupid.

Hopefully this will be what finally breaks the illegal, fraudulent, anti-competitive FFP regime for good.

FA FFP are totally different than UEFA’s. I know the main thing there is with wages going up compared to revenue so I can’t really speak on that. I know our ‘reported’ revenues have been fantastic the last few years though —but that is what was ‘reported’
The club gave a pretty damn strong statement yesterday regarding UEFA’s investigation.
It would be funny if we got rocked by the FA and Liverpool won their first EPL title because of a points deduction down the road. Nobody thinks OU won their title after USC had theirs stripped, but I’m sure Pool fans would celebrate like the title all the same

Solid stuff as always, mate

The club statement kinda is like we might be fricked
They don’t claim the documents are false or doctored, just out of context
Their premise is bc they were illegally hacked from the City servers that it can’t be used against them.
I bet who ever set up City’s firewall isn’t employed anymore

I don’t really care that much either way... I doubt anything substantial will come out of it..

I love how you call FFP anti competitive
but the very concept of a country with unlimated funds with no board to report too, owning a club creates the least amout of competition bc only that team will be able to win bc it outspends everyone on a regular basis. When you have no books to balance like your competition you have an extreme edge over others.

How do you get this -
From this?

From this?

Manchester City welcomes the opening of a formal UEFA investigation as an opportunity to bring to an end the speculation resulting from the illegal hacking and out of context publication of City emails. The accusation of financial irregularities are entirely false. The Club’s published accounts are full and complete and a matter of legal and regulatory record.

You said the statement sounds like we are fricked. We pretty bluntly say anything is false lol.

Of course they say they didn’t do anything wrong
But they don’t dispute the emails

Can you send Will Wade the City lawyers please??

It’s definitely a typical response to an allegation like this I just kind of see it as a ‘bring it on’ type response.

That’s what it is. It only exists to protect the cartel of legacy clubs from competition.

I would be fine with a salary cap to address this, but making it so a half dozen or so clubs have a permanent advantage over everyone else because they had success in yesteryear isn’t any better a situation. In the old days a great manager could build a club into something and make a go of it but now you have to have big money to some degree. And while PSG have spent massively, they are plenty of clubs spending as much or more. Chelsea have spent 1.3 billion on transfer fees since 2010 for example.
The only true solution is a Super League with a salary cap, not saying I’m advocating for that but that’s the only way to actually make it fair. FFP is, by definition, a restraint on trade.
