no but that stance City fans take saying we never spend 70 million on a player is dumb

esp when you have spent more than 200 million in one window

Our big signing (£100+ mil) is coming sooner rather than later, imo.

They've also never sold a player in their current era for more than £25mm... Our two record signings (VVD and Alisson) were covered by the Coutinho sale...

I dont know what the right answer is for FFP... I get that it technically makes the current crop of top teams so hard to unseat, but allowing countries to just pump £££ in with no checks in place doesn't see right..

ill fight you if you get Mbappe

I think if we do keep OSG

you will see us curb our spending. He will be using the academy a lot more and use the SAF model of spend big on a player or two to fill holes.

We have spent enough with squad overhauls the last 5 years.

Yea Liverpool spending money the club generates from player sales the model most clubs use.

Spending what you generate

hell we never spend over a 100 million in a window until LvG showed up and where did that get us.....

What makes you think Mbappe is going anywhere? He’d be at Real Madrid right now if that’s what he wanted. He’s a Paris kid.

Neymar on the other hand will be playing somewhere else either after next season or the one after that.

Yeah the CAS case is going to come back in PSG’s favor.

I agree to an extent. I get what FFP was trying to do, but it didn’t/isn’t working in terms of making things actually ‘fair’.

I’d argue that allowing a completely free market with no restrictions is more fair than limited spending based off of balance sheets. But at the same time I know some clubs need to be protected from spiraling into debt.

Cause honestly, PSG are a good way away from the UCL title... really old in a few key positions... I can see him wanting out...

Barca and RM are in need of a long term replacement for Suarez and Benzema..

PSG sanctioning a sale on the other hand, it totally different...

We aren’t a selling club. No player in their prime has ever left or tried to leave to the club.

PSG wouldn’t sell to us solely due to politics between Qatar and UAE.

Well, that's my point... because you pay high wages and have built a strong team.. but you haven't built that team through an outlay most clubs have to do... you have been able to buy, discard, buy again until you've gotten it right..

PSG will be able to spend again soon, but do need some retooling at the back to say the least. If the recruitment isn’t good enough and the club don’t progress then 3-4 years from now maybe but he wants to win with Paris if he can.

You are right for the most part, except our wages aren’t even the highest in the league.

However, idk where that claim stands following Laporte’s extension and once Bernardo signs his.

I actually like many of the players on both clubs... And they can be a joy to watch.. But I tend to favor SA players..

Like I said, I dont know what the answer is in regards to FFP... It is what it is now, with all its flaws (on both sides)...

Im just thankful we can be in the same conversation, from a sporting point of view.. which seemed like a million miles off at the beginning of the decade when we were staring down administration..

The FFP issues with the Neymar and Mbappe purchases are not permanent, we’re entering a new 3 year cycle by which FFP is measured. Won’t be able to splash that kind of cash but will be able to buy good players.

I mean, what is Neymar worth on the open market?? £200mm??

I'd sell in a heartbeat to RM (and I like Neymar) and bring in 2-3 top players..
