If you are for salary caps and FFP then you are a socialist. I don’t understand why people believe owners should be limited in what they can spend on something they own.

People will disagree with my take and it’s fine. That’s just my belief.

how can he be anti FFP but be ok with a salary cap

the issue with City and PSG is they are owned by countries

if these countries were able to dump their unmatches funds they would win every competition and there would be no more competition ever.

Nobody and that wasn’t a good strategy considering one of those two players has been on and off the injury list. But in terms of total transfer spend PSG is I think 5th or 6th in Europe and near Man United in the QSI era

If you’re going to have spending rules then the rules need to be uniform for everyone and not a situation where Club A can spend 100 million but Club B can only spend 25 million.

But you have no problem with Man United dumping their almost unmatched funds and drowning out 99% of the clubs in England, who now are by rule not allowed to compete at your level financially even if the owner has the money and is willing to spend it.

the difference is one club is self sustaning

and clubs in England have to spend more to create deeper squads, un like PSG that walks its league.

PSG has spent more than United since 2010

City top the list then, Chelsea and Barca

Code for permanent advantage because of successes decades ago. I don’t think that’s a good way to run your sport. Either make the spending limits uniform or have no limit.

You do realize we have a board to report to and have to self sustain.

This money is organic, same as Arsenal and Liverpool.

Like most clubs we still have books to balance

False

Bournemouth is the perfect example to prove you wrong

went from almost semi-pro to self sustaining top flight club, except the year they got promoted they spent beyond their means.

I’m speaking for myself, not trying to add to anything he is saying.

United did this for the last two decades and nobody cared. Fergie would buy players solely so other teams wouldn’t have them at their disposal.

We have never signed anyone for more £65 mil, Liverpool and United can’t say that. We have spent wisely and our players have developed. PSG have also been way more wild then we have in terms of big splashes of cash.

Our big spending windows have been during team overhauls. Mansour is rich AF. But he doesn’t just splash cash solely to do it and that is proven. He runs CFG like a business, not a play thing like many thought he would.

Leicester have won a title during these mad spending sprees as well so I don’t see your point as fact. The top six would still be the top six and if FFP went away United and others would still spend just as wildly and imo the quality of the EPL would skyrocket by La Liga in terms of quality.

Okay, I just don’t see how this is relevant. Only on football is outside investment so demonized, it’s bizarre. The money PSG paid for Neymar didn’t just materialize into thin air. Barca bought Dembélé and used the rest on part of Coutinho, Dortmund and Liverpool bought replacements, and so forth and so forth. Of course agents fees takes a chunk but that’s another discussion and we’d probably agree on reform in that area.

LC broke FA rules and FFP to get that title

Fegie would drop bank on one player and that would basically be it. He had one year pre City take over when he spent a lot

City took that as their overall way to operate in the window

City spend 40-50 million on squad players. United and Liverpool are not doing that.

So 70 million on 1 player or 160 on 4.....

Show me what trophies Bournemouth has won. They got where they got by doing a great job running their club and that’s awesome but they’ve hit the glass ceiling. They cannot compete with Manchester United even by doing everything right.
