Yet another boring, underwhelming performance dropping points under Arne Slot.

Farewell Mo and Robbo you fricking LEGENDS. You deserved better.

Glad that I got to see Salah play in Columbia, SC back in 2024 friendly.

Not many players I have been so happy about leaving on a free as Konate. The guy has everything you'd want in a CB but his Football IQ is absolute shite.

I know what you mean, but I disagree. He had his worst season this year but most people in our squad did too. When Konate was on his game, he was great.

Had he stayed we probably didn’t need to sign a cb this window with Jacquet and Leoni as backups but now that’s gotta be a major focus which isn’t good bc of all the glaring needs we have at other positions. Hard to see us shelling out 250m again

Also, im so god damn tired of losing players on frees and not getting any money from them leaving

I think Dom has 2 years left on his contract, if they can’t reach an agreement with him to sign a new contract then they need to sell him next summer

What starter quality cbs are out there we can get? fricking sucks it’s a World Cup year cause all of these new signings this summer will barely have a preseason with the squad. Which means another year of a bunch of brand new names in the starting lineup learning the system (whatever that is) and learning how to play with the rest of our squad

Sounds like it’s a done deal to Spurs….which doesn’t make a ton of sense. Surely there are better clubs interested in him? Hell, he played with Slot at Feyenoord

For me, the most important attribute in a center half is concentration. One lapse can cost you the match. His concentration levels and general decision making isn't worth his other qualities. Does it suck not getting compensation, yes. That's on the club for not selling him last summer.

VVD hasn't been himself in a while imo because of the instability of the backs and having Konate by his side. Matip had a calming presence on the pitch and that helped get the best out of VVD.

Prior to this season, I would have said he was a top 5 CB in the EPL... So many of our players underperformed, including the MF who didnt help protect the defense... they were played through like butter.. That said, he went through a horrendous patch in the season..

It hurts to lose him on a free...

After hearing VvD’s words on how little time they had to process, much less recover, from losing Diogo, I feel slightly different about the season as a whole.

Just getting back into European football for next season was a massive accomplishment and Herculean effort. It doesn’t excuse the poor tactical decisions, but I can absolutely see the on-pitch quality being affected when your body is trapped in mourning.

The won their first 7 games of the season after tying the Community Shield and losing in PK's.
They beat Inter, Athletico and Real Madrid all before Christmas, as well as Arsenal.

The mourning didn't seem to affect the start of this season at all.

Look, far be it from me to make any excuse to give Slot any air , but I have been through an incredible amount of loss and know how it has affected me.

It didn’t matter if I was in shape, busy, or isolating… nor if I thought I was sharp at that moment. Looking back, I was NOT on top of my game so to speak.

You can only “stay strong” for so long if you can’t take the time to focus on and address/cope with/process those types of things.

I understand all about grief and the “mitigating” circumstances that these players went through…trust me way too much. My issue for the team is that if he has everything he wants and all the players playing exactly like he wants I have a feeling that watching Slot Ball would still be like watching paint dry. Who is in the dugout for us and lives in Manchester? “Injury” is really the word for this season? Really? We’ve all gone through way worse injury issues here on this thread…Arthur Melo, Nat and Rhys anyone? I just don’t think this guy has any clue where he is in terms of culture and that is what makes this club special. What ever happened to not making excuses? All Slot does is make excuses and it’s never his fault. I apologize…I’m just aggravated again.

Wow - I did not have that on my Saturday morning bingo card. Is that Bournemouth guy still available?
