But that's the Bayern reserve team, right? That plays in the 3rd division against other reserve teams, right?

They are regional leagues at that level. So some clubs it is their first team. For the bigger teams it is their B team.

Are there other nations considering placing players on their World Cup roster from this league?

for smaller countries yea they pull players from these leagues during qualifying

Seems like all that should matter is whether he's more or less likely to score goals than our other 4th striker option.

I don't care that he's not on the A team considering it's the best A team in the world, and I don't care that he hasn't been I our system, if he can mesh with our established players. I don't know how you can know that without getting him into action prior to the WC, though.

I think that's the point of having him come train.

Yeah, a situation like that would seem a bit insulting to the guys not making the cut.

It would certainly be more comfortable for Jurgen to bring Green if it seemed more obvious that he may actually be ready to contribute at that level.

By the way, Antonio Sanabria, who's 17 and played for Barca B until this winter transfer window played for Paraguay in their WC qualifiers.

Yea this is comparing apples to oranges. Everyone knew Theo would play for England. Germany will do their damn best to cap green if he becomes a starter for Bayern its a given. Bayern starting XI player will play for the Bund.

Who will green play for? Nobody knows.

Does he have potential? Yes

Is he a game changer for the USMNT? Nobody Knows.

simple as that. I am excited about this guy also. I hope he is something very special. But lets see first.

This.

Adam Banks was a Hawk, but that doesn't mean he didn't quack like a motherfricker. I couldn't care less about the guys insulted by the move. Jurgen has been at the highest level and knows what he's doing. If we're going for World Cup wins, this is the sort of thing we need to start doing. Tying kids with talent to us early. He may not do shite this year, but if he switches and becomes a monster, we've got even more reason for players to play here instead of elsewhere.

The best players want to play for contenders, and the sooner we get players at the big clubs interested, the sooner we don't have to dream of these types of players switching.

Yes that is awesome

Also, it's a no-brainer to bring Green if he wants. Is Wondo really gonna sub in the 80th minute down a goal and he's our go-to option? People say they don't care about 2018, '22, '26...but he could be a guy in 10 years we say "Remember when we could have had Julian Green and we chose fricking Wondo who played 5 minutes against Ghana the entire World Cup." How ridiculous would that look?

Are we positive how Green will end up? No, but he's easily one of the most talented players to have ever had a chance to play for the red, white, and blue..and a country in our position who wants to be respected, you can't pass up talent like this.

Although Adam had to switch to the Ducks, and was reluctant to at first, because of redistricting or some shite.

@GrantWahl
Hearing Jurgen Klinsmann is pushing harder to get Arsenal's Gedion Zelalem & Mainz's Shawn Parker to choose the USMNT. Hardly a slam dunk.

kinda interesting, when playing with the first team, zelalem has looked like a top, top prospect. when playing in the youth teams, he hasn't been all that impressive. that said, we've pushed him back into a double pivot in CM rather than playing him as a no. 10.
