Apparently Klinsy has said he would give the kid a WC spot if he agreed to play for us... according to Bild.

Literally right after posting that image, Graham Zusi scored the equalizing goal against Panama.

That match thread was the best, most hilarious soccer board moment in which I've taken part.

I think the game thread from that night needs a lifetime sticky.

So....assuming he's close enough in talent to our fourth striker (which may be what Klinsman is looking at here), do you take Green to Brazil over Gomez et al just to secure his services for the next 15 years?

I seriously consider it.

I would, and he's probably better than Gomez.

If we need Gomez minutes in Brazil, something is wrong

That's a big fat frick you to the 4-5 guys fighting for the seat next to Nick Rimando. Thanks for busting your arse for (at least) the last four years.

they aren't as good as Green though, would you take Wondo or GAM over Green? I wouldn't

Yeah considering the group we are in this summer we need him on the team.

The way I see it, Green would be our #3 striker right now. Just behind Altidore and AJ (and that may be in the wrong order).

He's definitely better than Wondow, GAM, and Gomez.

Who fricking cares? This guy has the potential to be a legitimate world class talent. You don't risk losing him to give a bench spot to Chris Wondolowski

Frick that noise. You play to win the game, hello. I'd go as far as guaranteeing him a starting spot in Brazil.

I don't care how loyal a guy has been in the past 4 years, you don't leave out more talented/better players for a "loyal" guy. Green has the potential to be a 1st teamer at Bayern and has already played in some games. They are one of the all time great teams.

Green NEEDS to be on the WC squad. He gives the US a better chance to compete than guys like Hercules and Wondo or even Boyd and Agudelo. He's that good.

Also, teams give a big fat Frick you to "loyal" players all the time at the WC. Look at Muller, Özil, Neuer last WC cycle for Germany, I'm sure none of them even played I'm more than 3 qualifying games. Same with the US and Findley, Gomez, and Buddle Iin South Africa. Bradley gave a big FU to Ching and some other "loyal" guys. If you aren't good enough then too bad for you. You take the most talented guys to compete, hurt feelings don't matter.

Wondo, Gomez and Boyd are nothing more than roster fillers with Wondo offering the most of the 3 IMO. If we take 4 then it's a no brainer to me to take Green.

If he plays in the W.C. where does Klinsy play him, in the hole or does Klinsey go 4-4-2 ?

I doubt he will get much playing time in Brazil, but Demps form has been shyt lately.

If he will commit to play for the US, you take him to Brazil no question. And play him a lot while he's there.
