Its pretty crazy that you can say his best form may come as a 32 year old or whatever he is right now. 16 damn years as a pro and still churning out better performances.

He's not even the most influential player in the squad. Also, it's so early in the season, but Liverpool might only be the third best team in the league when it's said and done.

He runs considerably farther than anyone else on the squad every game. Technically brilliant on the ball. He wins balls all over the pitch, mostly in dangerous situations. He makes more tackles and completes more passes than anybody else. Most assists in Europe last year. He’s pretty much the engine that runs the team.
The only other player I could see an argument for is VVD.
