But it will be a germany team with everything to play for. It would be a huge game for both sides. It would be awesome.

It was after Lalas told him he could come out of retirement and into a beer league. It sounded like Ballack said you give me too much shite and Tirico had a funny look on his face. That's just how it sounded. Not sure..

Ballack was trying to make and explain what seemed like was going to be a pretty solid point about his thoughts on the US and Alexi wouldn't let him finish.

I haven't watched the show yet but Ballack knows more about the game than everyone else on that set combined (It's Tirico, Twellman, and Lalas right?). I respect Lalas, and he does love the USA, but he couldn't hold Ballack's jock on the field or in overall knowledge of the game.

Alexi is a dick, but he's a dick because he understands the landscape soccer in America better than probably 99.9% of people.
He's a bit too pragmatic--and he's definitely smug-- in his approach to the game for my liking, but he understands that American fans are typically way too quick to overhype a player or coach or performance.
I don't doubt Ballack's knowledge of the game, but I do question his ability to express it in words, let alone in the English language. All of my German friends told me that Ballack is a notoriously unintelligent person.
Also apparently, Lukas Podolski is incredibly stupid too. But that doesn't surprise me.

Bingo! It's hard (yet not impossible) to correct your team's problems in a week especially when you play like Portugal did against Germany. Add to those issues the 2 inuries, Pepe being suspended, and Ronaldo not being 100% and you've got yourself a pretty shitty cocktail to drink.
Portugal is still a strong team but I think we need to go for the win Sunday.

I agree with this. I do not mind Lalas, which is probably an unpopular opinion. He certainly understands American soccer even though he can be a fiery jerk. Just because Ballack was a world class player does not mean his genius on the pitch translates to the studio, coaching, or in the booth.
