What a great announcer. Obviously has a great feel for the game. Would love to have him call SEC Football games (Yes, I know that will never happen)

He's awesome. Oddly enough before the Brazil game I was thinking how hilarious it would be for Lee Corso to give some analysis.

"Not so fast my friend! Chile wins!"

I love Darke and think it would be awesome to try, the transition from the constant action of soccer to the start and stop of football.

He was pretty awful today with Brazil vs. Chile. Not his best performance at all. Didn't really have a feel for the game.

Same with Jon Champion and Stewart Robson during the second game

I remember Sir Ian calling US games vs Brazil and Colombia as a wee little lad way back in 1994.

Yeah I thought the same, but his resume speaks for itself. His "off" day today was still very, very good. I'd choose him and Jon Champion 10/10 times, if it were up to me. Although one of those being color instead of play-by-play would just be so weird.

For basketball and football, sure.

Have you watched him try to call a soccer match?

Ian and Macca calling England games when England invariably goes all England is amazing.

I would love to have a live cam of Rog and Davo watching an England match.

I couldn't believe when he mentioned a possible penalty kick shootout in the first half.

Yes. He ended up being correct, but it was WAY too early to mention that possibility.

"IANESTA!!!!"

That is what he screams as Iniesta passes it across midfield. And no, that is not a typo.

I really enjoy the soccer broadcasts as opposed to other sports. I find that NFL, college football and NBA try many times to cater to the dude-bro demographic.

Ever listened to Gus call a soccer match? Better yet, ever heard him try to announce half the players' names?
