Think Lebron James who wears dresses these days allegedly, but him, Durant, and a bunch of other NBA and NFL talent playing soccer out of the womb.

The US has such a huge market, and if soccer was the number one sport, you’d have a league that far outpaces the premier league considering the money and the talent that chases it.

Speaking of dresses, go ahead and give me a beating on how feminine that sport is, but nothing is feminine about beating the piss out of other countries at their own game.

Get’em!

By population alone we would have a larger pool and thus a huge advantage.

Look to the Olympics as evidence.

I’d pay to see Laron Landry play 5 minutes in a soccer game.

Do they take soccer seriously?

Plus I venture to say the US population is more athletic than theirs

Exactly. Soccer here is for preppy kids with money. It’s not the rough and tough kids.

Imagine if every defensive back and wideout in the NFL grew up playing only soccer. We would dominate.

It's taken serious, but hard to get to the level of many other places. It would have to be equal to basketball in the hood to hoops on the side of a barn. Other nations have poor players that are playing in the streets with coke cans. Other nations have players that grow up playing on the beach. Etc etc.

We are also way to spread out, so creating a "style," other than "American Grit" is difficult. They aren't playing together super young. Finding a way to get a large amount of great talent discovered really really young, and all moving to one place to play together may be the way to pull it off. But that's the level of seriousness that is needed, and time.

American Grit and talent keeps us where we are now. And for goodness sake stop with the homo shite.

Chinese might be good at ping pong or diving, but they aren't good at sports where you have to run fast.

And Indians pretty much suck at sports in general.

So they have huge populations of unathletic people.

Unless we start executing players when they lose, I don’t see us taking it that seriously by comparison.

It’s not like these European teams aren’t lousy with African players. It’s not like there aren’t 10ish US citizens playing for other countries either.

Yes, if the elite-level kids who typically funnel into American football skill positions or basketball back court positions were placed into soccer academies at 6 years old like they do in Europe, we’d dominate TF out of international soccer.
