Have these past few weeks been some of the best ever for U.S. soccer?

Compared to any other 1-2 week stretch.
Because let's be honest, taking down FIFA and then beating the Dutch and the Germans in their own backyards is basically the soccer equivalent of saying COME AT ME BRO.

Meh, as great as this week was... it was still 2 friendlies. The fact that we bitch slapped FIFA is amazing though.
Still... I think '02 World Cup is still the high water mark for US Soccer though. We kicked arse and took names in Korea.

I think the US Govt (not Soccer) fricked FIFA...
Our former executive shamed the US by being a dirty, corrupt bastard.. and a fricking rat on top of it..
and then 2 friendlies I haven't even seen highlights on... my vote is no!

I'm not saying it was found out this week, but IMO he was heavily tied to US Soccer and was corrupt during that time..

No question. Beating Portugal with Figo and beating Mexico in the round of sixteen is the high water mark.
Torsten Frings kept us out of maybe making the finals.

Exactly. Plus our women won their opening game. I wasn't asking if these were the BEST two weeks in our history, but just stating it was probably one of the best 2 week stretches I can remember.

Yeah, it's the success at every level that's so fun. U20s, U23s, USMNT, USWNT, and pitch slapping FIFA? That's a hell of a month.

You know how much positive attention this whole ordeal has brought to soccer in our country? Not just awareness here but also respect from abroad.
U.S. soccer (not the organization) is the general term for soccer in our country, so sorry if that was confusing.

After reading some of the arguments in this thread I'm going to say yes. My intial reaction was no because I was only thinking of the men's senior team, but if you looking at all the teams then other people are right.

2002 WC, and it is not even close.
The Women's World Cup, U-20, and fricking FIFA in the arse are all nice, but nothing comes close to our greatest success on the grandest stage. I guess this could be the best stretch of non-WC and 2009 Confederations Cup in our history.
