This is shaping up well for the US. Hopefully Germany can put one or two more in

This match is perfect for the US. Goal differential may be the difference.

did espn just misspell Ozil's name?

Same for us, so probably a Brasil-feed thing.

One more German goal and a Ronaldo injury and I'll say this game is perfect.

just keeping this at a 3 goal differential would be good enough. i don't see portugal beating ghana by more than 1 at this point.

Everything is falling Usa/ Ghanas way. More so usa as pepe will be back for the Ghana vs Portugal match. Usa win today, should be able to score a goal or two against Portugal then park the bus so ronaldo doesn't go crazy and we are into second round before we even take the field vs germany. Could be magical in my opinion we want second place so that we are on the opposite side of the bracket than brazil, germany and possibly spain. Much rather Argentina and Netherlands as our possible opponents.

Basically this. If a German name has an umlaut, ¨, then it get's transliterated to "oe" or "ue". Hence why, Müller becomes Mueller and Özil becomes Oezil.

germany needs to stop scoring so that when we tie them and both have 7 points, we win the group

Germans don't even say his name the right way. Its their way or the highway.

Either route seems pretty brutal.

And I thought for sure that was goal #4 right there.

Yes indeed, although Robben would destroy our left backs.

Well, for starters it would be impossible for us to be on the same side of the bracket with Germany. And 2) Argentina & Netherlands have looked better than Brazil & Spain.
