The changes introduced in FIFA 14 attempt to nurture the art of build-up play, of crafting an attack through the centre of the park, with the hope that the resulting goal will feel all the more satisfying.

Riiiiiiiight. I'll believe that in pro clubs when I see it.

They don't even have most of the Premier League stadiums. Not going to happen.

Great talk, but isn't there just talk every year?

Its going to be the same bullshite we're dealing with now. Its going to be just as miserable, and just as poorly play tested.

That being said, will buy. Unfortunately.

What kind of bullshite are you referring to?

FIFA 13 is an incredible game. The entire FIFA series is probably the best sports game series of all time, along with the NBA2k games.

Where do I begin?

- constantly being kicked from EA servers for no reason
- a plethora of problematic glitch goals
- terrible passing engine
- terrible hosting system
- terrible new one-touch system
- 45th minute wonder goals every game
- 90th minute wonder goals every game
- the most abysmal play testing in the history of gaming
- no concept of helping defense
- CBs who commit to the ball 99.9999% of the time leaving a gap in the back line
- an online system where if your pro is 5'3 and 115 pounds you score 3 to 4 goals a game like clockwork
- as a result of that, a system that encourages overhead through balls and stifles creativity and work up play
- the "forcefield" defense glitch
- the computer players who are worse at soccer than my 2 year old Catahoula. Hell at least she would run after a 50/50 ball, unlike 100% of the computer players

I could go on, but it would be overkill.

Sorry, should've said IMO it's one of the best sports games of all time. I doubt I'm the only person who feels that way.

Also, I have a job and stuff so I don't play the shite all day err day. I have hardly ever had problems with the servers and I generally have an enjoyable time playing the game. Regardless of all that bullshite you mentioned, it's an incredible game. Of course, one could find faults in any game if you are looking for it.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm in law school, so like you, I don't have time to play everyday. But every time I get online something is screwing up. I rarely find faults in games, even when they have glaring weaknesses. Honestly, this is the only game that I've ever complained about - I'm pretty easy to please. Unfortunately because EA has a stranglehold on the soccer market I have no choice but to play along.

Pretty much covered it all. I'll add a few.

- Did they program the computer jumping for headers into the game?
-71 rated defenders playing tiki-Taka on the back line but then can't pass it in a straight line forward
- defensive clearances immediately to counter attacks online
-goalies giving 0 fricks
-lob passes from 2 feet away from the comp
-ghost PKs
-passes directly out of bounds (brilliant)
-menu screens staying on the screen during gameplay
-overall online shittiness

I could go on but the point is made

Oh I forgot the one that pisses me off most of all. Your keeper takes his goal kick, the ball goes past midfield and the opposing CB wins the header. Ball subsequently travels 40 yards to a wide open opposing striker who is in on goal.

Happens at least once a game. And that is in no way an exaggeration.

I dont play online at all, just manager mode against the CPU so I dont have the online issues.

This

drives me up a fricking wall though. Guys just watching balls, especially when it happens in the box.

I'll give you this one. Happens all the time.
