I really hope english football goes ahead with moving to the german/spanish model letting B teams play in the football league. Would do great things for English players. Maybe they are seeing with the emphasis on youth systems now that the really need to do this.

That's the only way to overcome the technical deficiency between England and the continent.

On my phone but I just saw on my feed that PSG are only going to have a 20 million euro fine and no squad restrictions or anything else. Not sure what that means for City but if they want FFP to be basically just a luxury tax, that bothers me a lot less than point reductions, squad limitations or even banning from European competitions.

There needs to be a set standard to equal set punishments.

I wouldn't say PSG was worse b/c they didn't try to hide what they were doing other than a sponsorship deal similar to what City did.

Updated the OP with official punishments
60 million euros - 40 suspended - 21 player cap PSG same but none suspended

Surprised at PSG not getting some of it suspended as they were supposedly alot more co-operative than City, but it appears their back dated sponsorship has been deemed worse.

Anzhi and Zenit have also been named as 2 of the other 7 teams who broke the rules.

Without a doubt its worse. Something like 200 million euro a year

City's was like 30 million pounds a year.

City also have a 60million euro transfer budget cap - no including players sold, so I expect some of the fat will be trimmed to help that.

good news: although we are capped at 21 for CL, we are allowed to register 21 more players than united.

If that happens. Do you think the lower league teams (league 1 & 2) would be affected? Don't alot of the youth players get loaned out to these teams already?

Looks like City is getting rid off or letting go Milner, Barry, Lescott, Richards and Rodwell. Leaving them with one English player in the squad. What English players are they going to buy this summer to meet the min requirements for local/homegrown players.

I was referring to league 1, the league where this new one is supposed to slot in.

Also England are now in the final of the U17s European Championship, 4 years after winning it.
The young talent is there its about getting them playing regularly at 19-22, but that needs to be at premiership level.

Milner is about to resign
Richards will be resigned if he will play CB
Lescott and Rodwell definitely gone.

I hear we're going to buy a League 2 team and put them on our books

What other club can say that, two of their youth players who made their first team are going to brazil other than Southampton

Liverpool...Sterling and Gerrard. But you knew that.
