And these goals really remind me of the old Torres who was just so damn confident in front of goal. It would be so awesome if he had a couple great years for Atletico.

Pepe LePew with both assists and should have had a goal himself. He is on fire starting the second half of the season. I loved watching him play in Brazil.

His Liverpool highlight videos are some of my favorites to watch. What a fun player he was. His decline was such a sad one.

Just watched from start to finish. What the hell happened to him? I understand aging and injuries and stuff. But what happened to that aggressiveness going towards the goal. And so much touch and deception in those side foot finishes. Aggressive, fearless, having fun. He went to Chelsea and became the polar opposite of the player in that video. He constantly played scared.

Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba are what made me fall in love with the Premier League. Torres was just toying with keepers.

injuries hurt his speed, which was his "you're fricking fricked" variable as a player. once that occurred, he had a crack in confidence. then spain had a major tourney and he was mediocre-bad. this caused more issues with confidence. then he was the big dick chelski signing and his confidence and adjusting to his new body just melted him
torres is a great case study in how a slight physical issue (in a top-shelf athlete who uses his phsycial tools) can just start an erosion of the player's self-perception and the resulting output
a large part of why sports stars reach the levels they do it an iron self confidence. that's what separates the top level

Would love nothing more than to see him get his game back, even though it'll never be back to LFC years (age/injuries)... Love seeing him score goals..

It'll be a while before I'd say that he's back. Don't think he'll ever fully get back to his Liverpool form. But it is great to see him getting back on the score sheet. Definitely a good story to see him go back to his old club and score some meaningful goals.
