With the transfer ban and any incoming manager being completely unable to mold the team to his liking, I find this very unlikely. Any prospective manager would be walking into a nightmare situation. Stick with Sarri and then look elsewhere next year if need be.

This is what I wrote to a Chelsea friend

This would almost certainly be a disaster. We should be smart and learn from United's mistakes. Maybe OGS works out, but they rushed into their move, and it could be costly.

Frank is a club legend. He's managing a team that may or may not even be playing in the top flight next season. He's not going anywhere. It's not like he's going to end up at Real Madrid or Juve or some club that is a superior option to Chelsea in the next few years. If he's successful with Derby over the next year or two, maybe he moves to coach a team like Everton or Leicester or something. We can sign him then, and he'd happily come then. Let him learn the ropes somewhere else.

Personally, I'd be okay with bringing in the youth and maybe finishing outside the Champions League. I'm okay with being patient and not winning right away. It'd be cool to see that.

But we know that's not happening. Finishing outside the top four is a death sentence for our managers. There's no patience from ownership, the fans or the board, and that isn't going to magically change all of a sudden.

Yeah changing managers now would be a disaster so it wouldn't shock me if Chelsea did just that.

rumors are Juve let Allegri go because they felt his tactics were too pragmatic to win in europe, hence the attraction to Sarri.

Sarri is a dead man walking anyway. he gets booed, his best player is leaving, most likely transfer banned, and the two best prospects are out w/ long term injuries. guy is gonna get sacked by xmas if he stays. hed be stupid to not try to get that juve job.

now, who the hell would want to be a new coach at chelsea under those conditions? with lampard waiting in the wings? might as well just let Lampard come on, get his first season in while expectations are extremely low and see what happens.

Why not go with Allegri then? His tactics are pragmatic, and the players at Chelsea are at least suited to a low-block system.

Most logical way to handle it imho.

Now, Chelsea + Coaches + Logic =

The expectations at Chelsea are never low. You know Lampard would be gone if we finished 6th, 7th or 8th. The idea that Roman, the board or the fans (who are booing a guy who finished third and is in his second final of the year) will become patient is hilarious to me.

Hiring a guy because he's one of you is a terrible reason to hire someone. If he's good, so be it. Do it. But let him prove his worth. He's not going anywhere. Right now, Frank's greatest managerial achievement is overturning a first leg deficit against Leeds in a Championship Playoff SF.

5 months ago I thought Pulisic was at least walking into a tenable situation.

They know there are managers out there that aren't Italian right?

Good. Frick Sarri. He continually played garbage like Higuin and gave Willian too much time. Didn’t start playing Loftis-Cheek and Odoi regularly until late in the season. Played Kante out of position. Let him go.

This is a firable offense in my opinion.

He’s the best midfielder in the world and you play him out of position for... Jorginho? GTFO
