Attack is much better with Jackson. He is a one man wrecking crew. If only he could finish.

Caicedo just had a goal taken away by VAR.

12 fricking minutes of added time?? Total shite.

Yea, very good result after losing to your U21’s earlier in the week. Had to have it to keep pace- good on the lads.

It’s hard to tell with Tottenham. They have world class players, but are clearly underperforming this year.

That being said, there was creativity in the box today and CP looked closer to his old self.

Watching Jackson after him being out for two months was a revelation. If he could finish half as good as he does everything else he would be a top 3 striker in the world.

They got both center backs return. They won’t be as leaky going forward.

Additionally they are the second highest scoring team in the league.

As for the blues, we looked pretty good considering the rust on some of the guys. I felt that we biased the middle, and we’re more dangerous going forward.

Sancho played well, and CP and Jackson play very well off of each other.

All in all a good day at the office.

Agreed.

He didn’t get his first shoes until age 16. He is young, raw, but getting better. I predict that the finishing will improve.

Time will tell.

Whether his finishing improves or not, his presence makes everyone better and more dangerous. Sancho looked good (incredible save on his close shot), Cole has more space, Neto is back in the wing and making good crosses, and Enzo has more room as well. Even Sanchez played well today, denying Son at point blank range late. Keep it up.

Cucurella, Palmer, Jackson and Neto on the bench today against Bees. Those guys all played 90 minutes on Wednesday so understandable. Time for Nkunku and Madueke to prove their worth or get sold in the summer.

Who is at left back? Gusto?

Dewsbury-Hall? Nkuku?

Formation?

This will be interesting.

I go back to my suggestion when Nkuku plays.

Today I would have put Neto up top, Nkuku playing under / overlapping him.

Then, I would replace them with like for like with Jackson and Palmer.

Just my .02.

Abysmal offensive production without Jackson and Palmer. Sanchez continues to give it away. Playing with fire.

Hate to say it- Reece has lost a step. Those injuries have slowed him down. Sell Nkunku, Madueke and Dewesbury Hall. All useless. Play George and the other young guys and let’s see what we have.

What has Enzo done to stay on the field here? Shooting off balance, even his on balance shots sky over the goal

He is there for work rate and distribution. A goal from him is lagniappe (although he is more than capable). Brentford away was always going to be a tough out. They are a solid squad.

Honestly, it is tough to win on the road against mid - tier teams.

Liverpool losing to Fulham, and Brighton losing to 9 man Palace illustrates that.

A draw by Arsenal with Everton does as well.

Hell, City is struggling with a shite United squad.

The EPL is just deeper than other leagues.

Still in 4th at the end of the day.

I’ll take it.

As noted previously, I hoped for top 5. Still a lot of work to be done though. This run in is going to be tight.

As for today’s match, the Blues dominated the second half.

Jackson and Palmer each had two legit chances. Neto, James, and Enzo had one each as well.

Brentford had two legit chances in the last 10 before Palmer just missed on the turn and shoot at the death.

The back line looked solid, and Sanchez was in proper position.

If we can stay healthy, we will be a tough out.

We NEED to stay healthy!

Just here to say that Nkunku must be Congolese for “soft as charmin.”

Nkunku is Conference league level. He should never see an EPL match again. Tosin in the back is better than Colwill, and a much better threat to score on corners and set pieces.

We seem to be about as good as most teams, still not as good as the top teams. Need some key pieces to get to the top. Doubtful we’ll make top 4 this year. Winning the Conference championship is imperative.

Systems matter.

He doesn’t fit.

He is a world class finisher…IF he can get the ball in space.

Since he is slow, and short, that means overlapping a forward player and having the ball dished to you. Unfortunately for him, Palmer is better in that roll.

Why doesn’t Maresca play him there when CP is out? Who knows?

Perhaps he will play there in the Conference League match this week.
