We have more cash on hand than the majority of clubs in the world. About £100 million for player transfers and wages, not including money from the recent transfers.

Arsenal's definitely got some dough

We paid 9mil euros for Per and his wages are 80k a week. I may be mistaken, but I think that is what the secretaries make at Man City.

Might have been discussed already, but Park has to report for a few years of military service starting in 2014?

Yep. Hope it can be delayed in some way if he turns out to be a good player.
Park was brought in to Monaco the same time as Freddy Adu had a loan spell there. If only Freddy panned out.

some Marvin Martin noise mounting again, could be a down-to-the-wire transfer if the speculation pans out.
whispers aren't strong, but definitely recurring at this point.

Martin is a name that didn't super excite me at first, mostly because I didn't know him that well. But after doing some research, that's a name I could definitely get behind. 3 goals and 19 assists last year, in two Ligue 1 games this year he already has a goal and an assist, he is 23 years old, and is getting games for France now. I'd really like it. Not too young but is young enough to keep improving and is the type of playmaker we need desperately. We have to sign someone like that by tomorrow.
Grand scheme of things, I think we won't have improved from last season because it is so hard to replace Fabregas, but perhaps we will be better defensively.

New rumor out there that Wenger is interested in Marek Hamšík. I'd be so down for that. Haven't watched him play much in person, but I kick arse with Napoli on FIFA.

I don't want Dempsey to go, and it didn't initially make much sense to me, but in one way it could really help. Watching Arsenal send aimless crosses into the box is depressing even for someone that isn't an Arsenal fan. Van Persie seems to do all he can to stay away from them and who else is getting on to the end of them? In that one way Dempsey could be a big plus because of how good he is in the air and how aggressive he is in getting to them. Arsenal has no one with that kind of single mindedness. And strangely enough they seem to cross fairly often. He could definitely score goals for Arsenal.
Still he's never seemed like an Arsenal type player to me and its most likely bullshite.

I will never understand why we do this. It was even more maddening during that injury stretch when we played with only Arshavin as a striker.

Was searching through twitter(yeah, desperation) for any Arsenal nuggets, and I saw someone reported this rumor:
If so, that would be awesome.

Arsenal should do this just so my banning tomorrow on the Celtic forum will at least be from me epically trolling the Judas-supporting 'Tally and not the mods just being stupid.

Is Arsenal serious about Dempsey?
Posted on 8/30/11 at 11:24 pm to hendersonshands
I don't think so, Goal.com is pretty much the source of that.
ETA: I wouldn't mind it as long as he isn't the best player we buy tomorrow. He could be a useful squad player.

soccernet has a day long interactive chat. Best Arsenal rumor so far is that Honda is in London for a physical ahead of a move to Arsenal today.
