He’s an incredible dribbler who as a 19 year old in his first season of full professional soccer was hitting double digit g/a in the Bundesliga. Someone who can dribble like that with end product? That’s $$$ in today’s market.

Well they have been in contract talks for 18 months now. In 5 months he can talk to any club and set himself up to leave on a free.
Madrid would either need to sell or let him go for free then. Or he just signs the contract because he really doesn't want to leave. But that gives him zero leverage in negotiating.

Spring break 2010. I had already watched the 09-10 season as a neutral to get into club soccer. I met 2 guys staying in our house that were huge Arsenal fans. I watched the first leg of Arsenal Barcelona in the Champions League with them. After that, I was hooked.

My first FIFA game I played in 2012, I created a player and Arsenal, alphabetically was the first team that came up as a team to play for, plus I liked the cannon logo. Been mostly pain and heartache since then, outside of last season

My first time watching a World Cup was 2006, when I was in France for a study abroad deal. I fell in love with the whole team but especially Zizou and decided I would follow whatever team he played for. Well shite he head butted a guy and then retired, who should I follow? Tons of guys on that team played for Arsenal at some point. FIFA 2007 in college freshman year was my jam. Been a fan ever since.

Yeah, fifa 97 is where I started with club football. I also liked Barcelona and Inter Milan back then.
But my youth coach lived in Amsterdam for several years after college and was a huge Ajax fan. So I gravitated towards the dutch players.
Overmars was another player I liked.

I got on the train in 99/00, back when the US market had Fox Sports World as our only way to catch the Prem. Max Bretos at the helm doing all the nightly recaps. Arsenal were so fun to watch then, Henry in his first year with the club and the announcers belting out a passionate long drawn out Henrrrrrrrrrry each time he was involved.

I moved to London for grad school in 2007. I lived near Russell Square, where central London begins its merge into north London. I didn’t have a club I supported. I had barely even heard of most of the clubs.
All the people I met in the area were Arsenal fans and encouraged me to watch with them.
19 years later - I make it back to the Emirates every other year. I’ve loved this journey

Yeah fox sports world is when I first started watching.
Even watched some dutch league, rugby, Aussie rules football. Was a good channel.
But once pl moved to NBC I pretty much have watched every Arsenal game since.

Went to the Emirates in 2018 for Chelsea at Arsenal. Incredible atmosphere and time. Really cemented it that night.
The Emirates is special in person.
Vini Jr and Bruno G news are heating up. Should be a wild next few weeks.
Girona this Saturday also for pre-season.

I read the Nick Hornby memoir “Fever Pitch” in 2002 on a flight to London to link up with friends on our way to Spain to run with the bulls. Loved it and highly recommend to anyone interested in his tales of growing up and coming of age as an Arsenal fan in the pre-PL era. Very funny book. The movie version switched the storyline to the Red Sox, I thought it pretty much sucked.
It took until 2019 for me to start following closely, that’s when my kids were old enough to find Premier League games on NBC Sports Network. I’ve been committed since ‘02 and invested since ‘19.

I do like him but his wages and his end product are a little suspect. What I mean here is that for the wages being reported, his production needs to be near or more than a goal a game from my view. The salary being reported is more than what Messi was earning in 2013, and Vini's production is very good, but it isn't Messi levels in 2013.

Agree to a certain extent. However, he's one of the best CL performers of the last half a decade or so, and he's a current top 2/3? Player at his position in the world. You have to pursue those types of they come available.
Added bonus is teams will have to make a choice to focus on Saka or Vini, OR if they consistently double both, the middle should open up.
The game is transitioning away from possession based football with all the 1v1 man marking going on, you need people that can reliable beat their opposition and evade pressure, and Vini is that guy.
You pay what he wants and figure the rest out later
