Maresca said he's getting back surgery on Monday. We shall see.
If I'm Madrid, I'm letting him stay at City while he deals with this then take him on a free. He has 1 year left on his contract.

What are your thoughts on this colorway? Am I wrong in vibing with it, or is it trash? Black & Orange are so different

Ugly.
But Ive been thinking, if we are going to drop over 100m for a player it better be Vini.

Arsenal are exploring a move to sign Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior if he does not extend his contract in the Spanish capital.

He’s the type of player you put up 130+ million for….but I’m not getting my hopes up until he actually signs

Us paying for Vini Jr and giving Real Madrid money to buy Rodri from City is Crack to me
Posted on 7/25/26 at 12:22 pm to Bottom9
where is the club getting this ridiculous pot of money the last 3 years?
not like we’re offloading high priced players
still haven’t cracked a $40M sold player, closest player to hit that mark was Ox and that was 9 years ago

You're likely losing wages of 400k+/week assuming Jesus goes (Trossard being the other part of that)
Plus PSR isn't in effect anymore (which mostly based on profit/loss on a rolling 3 year window) its squad cost ratio (SCR which deals with only what's spent on the pitch, Transfer fees, wages, agent costs, etc) as a % of year to year revenue, UEFA limit is 70%. So as long as your revenue streams are steady/climbing you can keep adding to your wage bills. Outside of Saka, Saliba, Kai, and a few others, I get the impression most of our guys are on a relatively light wage structure.
Our revenues have essentially doubled in the last 3 years (from being good and from commercial sponsorships), and our spending has essentially been in line with everyone else (outside of Chelsea) so there is still room to grow.

We are having the best commercial run in club history is all. Maybe top 3 in English history. The Arsenal brand is on fire

Arsenal could easily break this, we just don't.
Spurs sold Bale, that would be like us selling Saka.
Palace's record sale is Eze, west ham's record sale is Rice. We just aren't the club selling these players.

And I'm guessing if Vini is brought in, Martinelli is out and he has to break the 40M record.
Posted on 7/25/26 at 6:35 pm to texastiger38
Possibly.
I'd say we are bad at selling our fringier players, probably because our fanbase think martinelli types suck. If you compare his CL numbers to others then he should be at Barcola levels if worth.
On the other hand if you look at Ox, Iwobi, Willock type deals. Those deals weren't so bad. I wouldn't have any of those players back for the fees we sold them at.
But if we can move on some others, Norgaard and Jesus mainly. That's a squad midfield and forward out. So numbers wise you can fit another forward and midfielder.

Its the only thing that makes sense. Probably had a spondylolysis that became symptomatic. There may be some new advanced surgical technique to treat that but usually it’s a lumbar fusion which could be career ending. So I assume they’re going to rehab and let him rest over the next 3 to 6 months and hopefully it heals itself enough to be able to play.
This was my impression as well. Symptomatic spondy is just rehab.

They just had the highest gross revenue of any club in history this past season. They obviously need to sell some assets but the Champions league runs the last 2 seasons have been very lucrative

I love how these links has the Arsenal Derangement Syndrome back in full swing.

Can someone tell me the hype with Diomande? I don't understand. 100 to 130 for a 19 year old Bundesliga kid is insane. No way he lives up to the hype
Posted on 7/26/26 at 2:15 pm to Bottom9
Madrid got him for 100M euros.
Hes the best dribbler in Europe this side of Doku, and probably close to Mbappe in pace. Hes going to be really good. Barely 2 years removed from playing HS soccer in the US
Also might mean that they are moving on from Vini. Guess we'll see

I hope Real aren't retarded enough to let Vinis contract run out

I keep seeing this is just negotiation tactics, but if he has zero chance of coming to Arsenal, how does that not just give Madrid all the leverage. Madrid actually have to believe he would leave for it to be leverage for Vini.
