You can see why Liverpool and Madrid wanted him.
Real passed on him, just so we're clear.

I said it earlier in the thread and will say it again. We are going to COOK teams this year.

Seen some highlights, night and day difference from Wednesday. That team looked like they knew what they were doing.

I trust Arteta. If we get three points at Old Trafford on Sunday that’s all that matters.

Father of a great American goalie and I stand by my remarks. The defense was putrid at times, but he is a fricking returning Premier League golden glove winner, and I expect more from him, and him to absolutely know better than to make that terrible contested pass to middle late in half like that.
He was much better today

Also, incredibly important for Cala to stay healthy. That guy is just a good footballer. Overlapped Martinelli so he can make inside forward runs, was playing as a CF in a couple other clips I saw.
Type of Maverick profile we need to hold with with Martinelli is playing so you can move him more inside, and allow Dec to play him or Gyokeres through

Gyokeres and Martinelli running the channels is the shite that gives defensive coaches nightmares.

Will be a fun one!!
Tough start to our schedule, but I'm fairly confident we'll take care of business against Forest.

Man, this window could be considered a failure after what our peers have done

I wholeheartedly disagree.
We needed 3 or 4 top players to provide depth/push us on
Zubimendi
Gyokeres
Noni
Kepa
Those guys all do that not to mention Norgaard and Mosquera.
We are really close to a title, our rivals need like 5 pieces for a title. Arguably speaking, I believe that LW and ST (only cuz Gyokeres isn't tested at Premier League level yet, but we will find out FAST) are the only "weak" spots in the starting 11 that could cost us. I really believe that.
Raya, Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, Odegaard, Saka have all been in the PFA team of the year list within the past 2 seasons. Last years awards are announced soon I think but Saliba and Rice will both be in it 100%. Only like 2 teams have as many. For the rest of our rivals, they need to catch up, we don't need to buy world class CBs, RWs, Mids, etc because we have them already.

I look at this very differently.
We are adding two players to our starting squad, sometimes it might just be one if Havertz starts.
These other teams are adding 4-5.
That doesn't always work out well. For example, Liverpool had a settled team that had won the premier league already. They are adding 4 players to their starting lineup, possibly more. And no Salah for AFCON.
Diaz played 36 pl games, Jota 26, Trent 33, Nunez 30. These players all helped you win the league.
City is interesting because they had a lot of injuries. But to start the season it seems rodri, foden and kovacic are injured. And they have relied on 2 30+ players to give you 30+ games in Silva and Gundogan.
If you look at their signings, there is trafford, who will be a back up gk this season and a kid in Nypan. That leaves you with Cherki, reijnders and Nouri.
Is that really better than us?
The season starts Friday. Any signings for any club at this point might not help you the first couple of weeks. Like Sesko at United. If he starts against us will be the first competitive type atmosphere he gets with his new team.
