We knew we would struggle without Saka. We created chances that we have to bury going forward, but it still wasn't pretty

Honestly that’s prob why I’m taking this season with much more apathy. I haven’t watched every minute of every game and cup game. Makes me feel like the end of Les. Play some boring stuff.

Prob was the two seasons ago that should have been our 2019 season. Just couldn’t finish it out.

Need to freshen up the attack.

Want another parallel. We looked exciting at times when fournette was running wild. Not much diff than relying on Saka. Les couldn’t recruit a qb, Arteta has yet to recruit a top notch striker.

Saka had hamstring surgery and will be out at least 2 months…. Would love to see them make a move this window. Olmo would be a great signing

With him having surgery, it’s fairly likely he misses the rest of the season.

And maybe that is a good thing for his future and maybe the clubs’ as well.

They need to get attacking support so he doesn’t have to play every game for years on end

Yes new reports looking like April at the earliest. Definitely need some attacking help. We only have 5 guys to play 3 positions.

ETA: Rumors of Fabio Vieira recalled from Porto. And he’s been kind of shite there

There are lots of factors to consider when looking at a potential RTP...

The average is around 151 days from the @PremierInjuries database. And even though Saka has age on his side, those players under 25 tend to take a little longer (167).

However, positionally, attacking players generally recover the quickest, 135 days.

Just under half, 44%, of all players will return within four months, but only five have managed a comeback in less than 90 days.

So, all being well, realistically, we could be looking at a date in April...

Ive been saying this since last year but unless we sign a true goal scorer, we will not win the title.

Hopefully they address it this window.

In the summer you will have to address the midfield again with partey and Jorginho.

The emergence of Lewis Skelly also means we better not buy another defender. He’s your new first team addition to the defense.

He’s actually a midfielder by trade, he would be great at the left 8 spot.

A midfield of Him, Rice & Ode is pretty legit

Talking about skelly? shite, if he plays in the midfield then watch Arteta buy another left back.

Listened to arseblog post ipswich pod and James seems to think we dont spread the goals around enough. I also didnt realize Arteta said we were better against ipswich than palace because we gave up 15 shots to palace.

Might have been tongue and cheek, but there you have it. If Ipswich scores one goal on one shot and we draw 1-1, it's better than winning 5-1 because we had more control.

Yeah MLS came up through the academy has a Midfielder, just started playing LB to break into the first team like Saka.

See, and that comment from Arteta is why i think we’ll only be able to go so far.

He’s less interested in winning games than he is is controlling them ie not losing. So we’ve got a team full of guys that are great at maintaining possession and scoring off of set pieces, but we’ve essentially got 1 guy that we count on to put the ball in the net. It just doesn’t work in the long run because you face mid and deep blocks constantly and if that one guy doesn’t score, or you can’t put one in off a set piece you end up with the Porto games from last year, 2nd leg at Bayern, etc

To play his way and win lots of games, you’ve got to have a fleet of guys that can score, we just don’t have that, and we can’t play a lick of transition ball

I’ve been waiting for the shoe to drop on us, but after West Ham…. Damn. I still expect there will be an injury or something and we’ll flame out.

Arsenal have scored more goals in a calendar year than ever before. Yes, the Saka injury sucks and something should be done about that, but Odegaard is too good not to start finishing his chances. Remember Arsenal are in second place and their second best player and captain didn’t play for 1/3 of the season.
Liverpool will have a lull, just need to take advantage of the opportunity.

It's frustrating. They could be down 5-0 and still somehow find a point by the end

I read somewhere that Barca can't pay him or something like that. I would bet they would welcome a lowball offer for him.
