Very curious how they are going to line up this weekend in the midfield. Do we see the Havertz-Partey- Jorginho midfield 3. Or does Arteta surprise everyone and plays Nwaneri in Odegaards spot.? Also this could be a time we see a defender in the midfield. Zinny plays the left 8 for Ukraine and I believe Timber/White have played up the field as well.

Midfield will def be a combo we haven’t seen before. I don’t even remember if we’ve seen Jorginho and partey in the midfield. When partey came back last season Jorginho stopped playing.
I guess they could put trossard in there but I don’t see that happening. Not for this game.
If Jesus is back then that solves who plays cf instead of havertz.

We’re going to be in a bind without Odegaard if he doesn’t play Nwaneri. We have no one else that can fill that ball carrying/ball retention role. Plus he typically leads the press.

It’s been doom and gloom about the injuries obviously but in good news Arteta re-signed

Who are half of these subs today?

The makeshift midfield is not working.

10 minutes in and this has been rough, pretty much 1 way traffic.

Defending, it’s:
Trossard-Havertz
Martinelli-Jorginho-Partey-Saka
Timber-Gabriel-Saliba-White
I can’t tell what it’s like going forward, because we haven’t done much of it yet.

They keep losing the ball in the midfield, and when under 0 pressure plenty of times as well.

Missing MO in the middle big time.

Job half done. Conserve, absorb, frustrate.

No way someone doesn't make it out of here with a red card.
Hopefully it's Van De Ven or Romero.
I have never seen an Arsenal squad so devoid of threat in the middle lmao. Yet they are playing well. I love our direct approach. Just wish we had the little extra concentration.
Martinelli has been very good yet his final decision making has to improve or he won't be at Arsenal much longer. It's harsh but he has to do better man.

They are doing decently well absorbing then finding an outlet for the counter quickly. Just can't ping the ball around in the middle, or make the right pass. Spurs with all the yellows and looking a bit suspect on the counter give me some hope.

Or Vicario! Jesus with the late winner.

Kudos to Saliba and White for building the wall that kept Vicario from getting there!

Massive result with this roster. Arteta earned every penny today!

3 points away with 0 midfield. I guess that is why you build the defense first like Arteta did. Prefect plan for this game.

Great win missing some key pieces

The midfield did the job that needed to be done. Kudos to their work. Really need Martinelli to start being more of a menace going forward.

Great win tactically from Arteta today. Honestly would take 1-0 victories all week considering this is a brutal 3 game stretch of away games. Gabriel has 15 goals since 2020 and has the most out of any CB in the world in that time.
Everyone gives Saliba his praise, but Gabriel's goal scoring record is absurd, and most of them are in big games / moments. What a player he is.
1 Down and 2 to go!
Champions League new format on deck this week! Excited for it!
